I actually watched a few games from that season on YouTube today. Josh Malone doesn’t get nearly the credit he deserves for being an all-around crazy talented receiver here. I think he could have had a Meachem type career if we had aired it out more and focused on getting him the ball.Strangely, not as much hope for this season. More contentment. The SEC is a hard row. If the Vols are scoring points anything can happen. It's the path to wins the Vols have right now. Looking back on that team that beat Georgia with the hail Mary there was a lot of offensive talent: Dobbs, Jenkins, Kamara, Hurd. Hope we can look back at this 2021 team one day and say "yeah, that team had some talent and played like it."
He's somehow in virtually every media practice video.View attachment 387214
This dude cracks me up. Redshirt senior, 5’9”, looking like a cast member from Almost Famous, living the dream.
Think he’s my hero.
Limited amount of throws available to view last practice? Appeared Milton was taking a little off of the short passes. Untrained eye thing.I haven’t looked at much recently, but my understanding is that Heupal’s offense is either short or long based on numbers and matchups. I would need to watch more, but I initially read there aren’t many medium throws.
Get players in space and to the area of the field where numbers are in your favor. Sometimes, that means a short, quick pass.
With his arm talent, he has to be an idiot not to be starting. His arm is as good as any starting NFL QB. It's all in his head that's holding him back.Bray has been in the league like 8 years. I think it's safe to say he isn't an idiot.
I just don't think he worked very hard while he was here and I don't think Dooley tried to make him.
I want to be doing the things that get us competing with Bama, Georgia, Florida, Clemson, Ohio State, and Oklahoma. Idk what that entails, but “doing things the right way” is a meaningless platitude to me.After the last fifteen years you don't know what doing the right way means? It means doing the exact opposite of the stupidcoaching we have endured for a decade and a half.
Nega Nick? Well well well apparently you haven't learned your lesson. Don't miss the signs like Catbone. 1st warning was pooping in his produce section. Eventually a senior citizen was sent to rough him up. @Bassmaster_Vol get Gladys to warm up her purse swinging arm.....and none of that crappy store video this time .People talking about cleats and I’m just wondering if we can complete a swing pass and cover an inside route yet️
Here you are crappin on good folk for simply saying they are glad it seems the staff is "doing things the right way" and trying to BUILD an actual TEAM...which is obviously what Oda was saying..I want to be doing the things that get us competing with Bama, Georgia, Florida, Clemson, Ohio State, and Oklahoma. I'm in Stone Cold Steve Austin "DTA" mode after the last fifteen years of sewage we've been dragged through with failed promises of development and quality roster decisions...It sounds like he's won the starting job over guys who went through spring camp. I'm not sure what more he can do. You know there is a middle ground here, where he can be better than the other guys on campus, but not necessarily Cam Newton II.
Do you not trust Heupel to select the right guy and develop him?
I’m guessing they ran a drug screen at the hospital. Hard to cover up that when it’s public knowledge.Too many failed drug tests, so the story went. 3...it was reported.
Always thought it was odd that it happened right after he had a concussion and had to be carted off vs TAMU.
Either way, seemed like a shizzy time to cut a guy for a silly reason.
I’ve been saying it since we fired Pruitt and all the “win/do things the right way” talk started with Donde at the pressers. I don’t think you win in the SEC doing things the “right way”, unless the “right way” is simply putting on the “right” face, saying the “right” things, and then when the doors close doing what needs to be done. Here you are crappin on good folk for simply saying they are glad it seems the staff is "doing things the right way" and trying to BUILD an actual TEAM...which is obviously what Oda was saying..
And people call me grumpy...![]()
