Well saidMarvin Harrison was a good receiver but wasn’t HOF until #18 threw the ball to him. Reggie Wayne will wear that jacket also. Players like Austin Collie, Pierre Garcon and Dominic Rhodes benefitted on their bank account from the association. Point is, a player running around real fast without the ball is a fast person…but little else.
Just a necessity of the job, I'd say. Like the article yesterday from anonymous HS coaches on Pruitt. Nobody seemed to care about that. Or the annual "anonymous SEC coaches on SEC HCs" article. People only get into a ruckus over anonymous sources when it's negative toward their team/coaches, which I suppose is a necessity of being a fan lol.It was also the quotes from unnamed sources if I recall. I understand not revealing a source and writing an article based on that information. But quotes from unnamed sources are a bit different.
Will ask about today but has said Garner has the line looking pretty good….. my source may not understand what all Garner is trying to get out of them. These a spurts where he gets to see them as well…. Big difference in giving that much effort for a whole game.Any news on how the DL is responding to Garner's pushing?
Weren’t the anonymous sources RIVAL COACHES? Considering sources.Just a necessity of the job, I'd say. Like the article yesterday from anonymous HS coaches on Pruitt. If we write him off I hope the kid goes somewhere and blows up...I won't blame him. Heupel himself was nothing special as an athlete.
K, I was making a bit of a tangential comment. I have no comment on college careers, kid has played a handful of games lol. Just saying he wasn't predicted to be as good as the others coming out of hs and he needs time. That's all.We were comparing CAREERS and Bailey hasn’t had one yet in college. So…only basis for comparison is high school.
He doesn't look like a greek god and throw it 75 yards on a rope, or run like a gazelle. I think all coaches get blinded by extreme athleticism and the crazy potential it brings. But the greatest QBs ever have not been those athletic freaks. Peyton was a statue with a adequate arm, same for Brady...Brees sure isn't an athletic big armed freak either...or Montana..Heup has made it an open competition….. he is just not winning it right now….. it is a simple as that.
OMG are you that obtuse, or are you just messing with me? Of course I mean exactly what I said..he was no great athlete, but he was a great college QB.In what way do you mean he was nothing special as an athlete? He was Heisman runner-up, an all-American, AP player of the year, and Walter Camp award winner.
Do you mean, like, he can’t run fast?
I'm not arguing with that. My point continues to be that said receivers have not yet been studs in college, but they get all the credit for what happened in high school.I just want to point out that I never said anything like that (Considering someone has taken over the back and forth with you over a comment I made about HB's receivers being studs)
All I implied was that HB's HS numbers could be inflated because he played with great receivers, and I stick by that
BUT, I never said that HB can't or won't be good in college
I’m never gonna hate on that kid, but facts…Some WSU Cougar fans are gonna get a slap in the mouth when they get a good taste of "Game-Day Guarantano". . . it's kinda surprising that his bad performances are seemingly overlooked. Truth is, I hope he gets it right and has a great year, but it seems like he's still making the same bad decisions with the same bad habits.
