The point was, last year's team was a 6-6 team. They only went 3-7 because it was all SEC. Had we had the typical 3 cupcakes, they win 6 games.

My point is this year's team should be much improved over them. We are a better football team than we were last year.

OK bass, I broke my rule in engaging in discussion with an ultra homer in the first place, we'll find out soon enough if Heupel can overhaul an entire team with a million transfers and do a lot better than 6 wins. We've seen this song and dance before, the homers usually expect, "guarantee" a lot more wins than our first year coaches end up getting. Hopefully this is one of the two times a day the broken clock is correct.

I want to be optimistic, but I haven't witnessed have a "good" injury year in...hell I don't remember the last one we didn't lose several important players for multiple games, and even when they could play they weren't anywhere near 100%..

That is the main reason why I am so pessimistic about this season...I expect devastating injuries.

I don’t know if he will or not, but this sets up nicely. Dooley and Butch both played a top 7 Oregon team in their first year, and Pruitt played a ranked WV team. Dooley played 4 other ranked teams, Butch played 6 others, and Pruitt played 4 others.

This year, Bama, UGA, and UF are the only preseason ranked teams we play with Ole Miss a fringe team whose defense still sucks. I don’t believe UF ends up ranked the same or higher at the end of the year (but that’s me). Schedules do matter.

I think it matters that these coaches are not used to working with top notch talent. They have been able to get exceptional play out of ordinary players. We have depth issues, but we also have some talent to work with.

And it's almost time to stop speculating!

Now the smoky greys with the helmets meant something and matched well with the orange..and looked less Halloweeny. I’ll wait to reserve judgment, but the black and orange is the worst of the looks in my 40 years on earth.

Trenton is probably the best team Martin will face this year. There schedule looks to be super easy to me. Next week against Gibson County will be a blow out for Martin. I think Huntington and Ripley will be the hardest teams remaining on their schedule. After watching Ty play, I’m not convinced he will be great at bama. I’m terrible at evaluating players though because I was not impressed with Chad Clifton in high school and he played 9-10 seasons in the NFL. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Westview was the 4th best team in their district the past 2 years. They lost 101-7 to the 3rd best team in their district. I saw those Covington games and I've been consistent that I don't see a 5* player. Those Covington teams don't have a D1 player.
