Yeah, I guess there’s so few of people like me with epilepsy that it doesn’t matter if they lose my business. Perhaps they’ll pick it up plus more with people that enjoy a good light show with their football game
Legit question out of ignorance. Can you not just close your eyes and put your head down too keep from having a seizure?

Extremely accurate in HS. We haven’t seen or read anything to believe he’s extremely accurate at the college level, not yet at least. He can’t run and he can’t sling it so he would be a game manager unless he can make incredible throws in tight windows and win you some games. Coaches believe Milton’s cannon and legs will win us more games than HBs precision. Milton strikes me as someone likes Josh Allen and josh Allen is doing quite alright for himself. I imagine Allen is a way better runner but he’s in the league bc he can run well and he’s got an absolute cannon.
He was 71% completion rating against SEC teams and only practiced when the season started. Milton hasn’t made a single play for us yet and you are claiming he is Josh Allen. I have no words.

Bailey's stats from last year are inflated IMO because he was continuously checking the ball down against soft coverage in blow out losses. I think calling him a game manager based on what we saw from him last year is totally fair.
I went back and looked at the games last year skipping the vandy game bc well it’s vandy….. he completed less than 20% of his passes over 10 yards and he completed a high % of passes at the line of scrimmage….. I hope he stays and grows his skill level to become a great QB one day.

The amount of people that went from for the light show to against the light show when they saw the video really makes me wonder what you guys thought "light show" means... Lol
they'll warm up to it eventually. it's not like it's going to happen every game.

the only time i would be opposed to the lights would be if we are getting blown out at home and score a late TD. that would be embarrassing.

do we shoot fireworks when we're down big and score? can't recall.

He also didn't make a single big time throw (BTT stat) all year. Outside of the HS Vandy squad, with HB we didn't even manage 20 pts in any game. We had 13, 19, and 17 pts. Our 3rd down% even decreased from 32% pre-HB down to 23%.

His completion% is nice looking, though aided by short soft passes (lowest ADOT on the team) and low drop%. His actual accuracy% ranked 13th in the SEC, interceptable pass% 16th, and dead last out of 21 eligible QBs in uncatchable pass% and sack%.

I can see the game manager tag. That said, I think he could grow into a fine GM type guy with time. Has to cut down on fumbles, sacks, and increase accuracy first though. If he can develop his long ball accuracy and make some big throws, who knows?

Even then I don't care. The "light show" isn't some giant fan event. I've said this before... It's something to look at during one of the 9000 different TV timeouts. It's about as noteworthy as them playing Garth Brooks or showing regurgitated highlights on the big screen.

Watching on TV you most likely wouldn't even know they are doing it.

Our leadership saw the light show at Bama and said “We want that too but for 75% off”

Yep, I'm a huge Bailey fan and I think he's got potential to be a stud. But if Coach Heupel doesn't think he's ready to be the starter then I trust him. The bulk of HB's passes were check-downs or at the LOS which just isn't what this offense is built around.

they flick the lights like a crackhead electrician after a score

Disagree with this sentiment, if you've watched how Alabama and Georgia use it, it absolutely isn't TV timeout filler. It's a tool like any other, for the fans, and more importantly for recruits. It's another part of the arms race in college athletics for sure. But if used correctly, even watching on TV it should be more than evident.

Better keep that head down often, cause we plan on scoring a lot!

And this is in no way making fun of those with epilepsy for all of you Sensitive Sally’s out there

It was obvious what Heupel thought of him when he was running third team in the spring game and they immediately signed a transfer (Milton) to push him further down the depth chart.

I am not saying Bailey is bad. I think he played pretty well compared to others last year. But he’s not a high level SEC QB.

Hmmm, I always thought it was to disorient and mess with the eyes of the away players that weren't used to it

I'll give him this - 91% completion on throws behind/to the LOS and up to 10 yards. He could be pretty good in a short west coast style offense I'd bet.

I've seen the Packers doing it during night games too. Big time football has the crazy lights, people see it and know about it.

watch every time they score

if we invested in the lights, we're going to want the announcers to talk about it, and we're going to make it a point to have it all over tv

So before i did some work from home this morning i was on a quick walk and was skimming through podcasts on Spotify. I wanted to hear about some other teams. I randomly listened to a UGA podcast and they were literally saying "ahh nothing on Clemson's defensive front really keeps me up at night" im thinking bro there's day 1 and 2 draft picks all over this front. Then they just dismissed their own injuries at receiver and were like "i still feel fine about our receivers in this game vs their secondary"....Its really wild how arrogant and dismissive of teams they've become. Also Clemson gets Justyn Ross back as well and they were talking like its no big deal at all even though Kirby himself was on a presser yesterday or so talking about how they have no experience back there esp with Smith out.

Football fans, especially on message boards, do this every preseason. I've been reading multiple team boards for a long time and I still can't believe how strong the groupthink mentality can be, but you know how it works. Voicing concerns gets downvotes, criticized, insulted. Pundits/podcasts lose their audience. Pointing out problems is unpopular and people don't like to be unpopular.

But you're right, Georgia has some problems entering the season. There are more than the normal depth and experience issues in the secondary, due to opting to pursue NFL careers (5), transfers (3) and out due to injury (1 or maybe 2). Receivers could have been a strength in 2021, but attrition has really impacted both WR and TE preparation, including injuries that occurred last season, injuries that happened during the offseason, and transfers. We'll probably be using several WR/TE who would normally be 2nd and 3rd team. Two starting quality WR are definitely out due to ACL's (Blaylock, Pickens), Jackson is 6 weeks out from knee scope and hasn't scrimmaged, Rosemy is coming off a brutal ankle fracture last December and missed spring practice and part of summer, Arian Smith had surgeries on his wrist (May) and meniscus (July), plus turf toe, so missed offseason workouts, Burton missed fall scrimmages due to ankle injury but should be good to go, Robertson transferred, Arik Gilbert MIA. Starting TE Washington is out with broken foot, 2nd team TE Fitzpatrick has missed both fall camp scrimmages with a foot injury, but reportedly cleared now.

Those units are the main concerns I see, but JT Daniels, who wasn't cleared from his ACL until the last 4 games, still has to prove (to me at least) that he trusts his knee enough to step into throws. Our offensive tackles have to mature quickly against Clemson's DL, which is probably their best unit. Ericson, slated to be our new starting center, suffered a broken hand during camp, so either he snaps with his other hand or we'll have another new starter there. Several linebackers missed time in the offseason, including projected starters Nakobe Dean (labrum surgery) and Quay Walker.

Taken in sum, we're starting the season with less experience and preparation than I expected 8 or 9 months ago. I'm definitely not cocky about the Clemson game and most Georgia fans, if they follow the team closely and are being honest, would say the same.

I didn’t realize our offense attacked defenses very much or asked our QBs to throw long a lot. What Bailey did was take what the defenses gave him and completed 70% of his passes. He threw the ball 68 times total with barely any practice. I swear half the people on here will look for any reason to put down a player. Did you look at Miltons stats? Yet everyone thinks he is Cam 2.0. Come on… I’m hoping Milton is Cam 2.0 and Bailey is Drew Lock 2.0, but we don’t know yet. Both QBs played in archaic offenses last year.

I trust the coaches on the QB evaluation. If HB was the best, he'd be starting on Thursday night. The article on the Athletic seems to put a lot of stock in Milton's thumb injury being the reason he didn't go off last year. He's healed up and ready to go.
