Lol. He didn’t practice til game three. And then played Texas AM (#5), Florida (#6), and Auburn (#23). But let’s throw out a game because that helped his stats. Of course and every QB gets inflated stats from bad teams. Why are we giving Milton a huge pass for his stats and not Bailey when he didn’t even barely practice until being forced to play?

Short answer is because we're just fans and Milton is the starter. Personally I am fine with any of the 3 starting, I trust the staff picking the best man for the job. There's something they aren't seeing from Bailey and thus he's not the guy, my assumption based on what I saw last season is it's the lack of deep ball abilities (accuracy & velocity).

I do hope they're tracking not just accuracy, but caught ball% in practices and scrimmages.

Though HB may not be showing the same accuracy, I do wonder if his softer and more catchable throws could end up in fewer dropped balls. He had a very low drop rate last year (which could also have to do with depth of throws...though I think his touch is a big factor too) and bullets from Milton conversely might hurt his completion%, even if they're accurate. (Yes of course the WRs just need to catch it regardless, but reality is they're harder to catch).

That is awesome! Sadly though..the mid thirties couple I had spoke of a few weeks ago didn't turn out good, the wife completely recovered relatively quickly, but the husband, a boy I had known since birth...passed away Friday.
I am in complete agreement, but when God provides a way out and people refuse it out of hubris..it is hard to understand.

I do understand we are living in crazy times where a lot of people don't know who to trust, and our way of life is being trampled on in a lot of ways...but to abandon common sense is not the way. Some things I can see with my own eyes...I can count.

Anyway..thanks for the kind words.
So sorry to hear this. I hope he finds peace. The thing about free will is that it comes with the freedom to make the wrong decisions.

CJH wanted Milton to be the guy, brought him in to be the guy and has been coaching him to be the guy. He likes Milton's upside and thinks he has the best skillset to run his offense. While the other QBs didn't beat Milton out in camp, they'll get PT because UT needs and wants to have quality backups invested and ready to play. That's why the other two QBs are still competing-- and not locked into that #2 and #3 thinking-- while the #4 guy was told exactly where he stood.

I'm not sure what your argument is at this point. You admit that Bailey is not experienced and needs time to develop. We have all said that. But, Milton is apparently a little further along AND provides a stronger arm and legs to move. No one has put Bailey down, but we trust the coach who has actually developed QB's.

Dobbs was such a different scenario. His special talents couldn't be seen in practice because they were things they didn't do in practice. It sure wasn't because of his arm or accuracy early on haha. It was because of his legs and playmaking ability on broken plays. Butch couldn't see any/much of that in practice day in and day out.

Dobbs still had accuracy problems through his junior year. He got better his senior year on the deep balls.

Replacing a lighting system with a more advanced one capable of doing more things doesn't qualify as copying someone else imo.

I think what a lot of people are missing is that most premium LEDs come with the ability to change to any color you like. I replaced my old bulbs with smart bulbs so I could tell Alexa to turn the lights off in the bedroom without having to get up and so that the OH could control lights when I'm not around (he's disabled and as y'all recall pretty ill), those lights all come with the ability to change color, dim, and even sync to where the sun is in the sky or the beat of music. And if all you want is the option of different shades of white light (candle, soft, warm, bright, cool etc.) it's still best to go with premium color LED bulbs because you have far more control over the colors, level of dimming, and so on.

It's also a TON cheaper in the long run to use LEDs which is the real reason Stadiums are switching over to them. You pay more up front but because LEDs run a lot cooler you save a lot of money in the long run by using them over traditional bulbs and that's going to be especially noticable for a large space like Neyland. Stadiums are just taking advantage of the fact that LEDs come with all of these color options and other options built in.

Serious question, why did Bailey look so good stretching the field in the O&W game yet apparently can't hit water if he fell out of a boat down the field in practice. I rewatched it last night, he threw 4-5 DIMES in the spring game
For 1….. orange and white games are awful to judge players…… he did have a good game though….. my person that has watched practice says that Bailey will make a really awesome throw and then go 2 for his next eight…. My person thought he was even behind Maurer based on how he performed…. That does not mean he can’t be a great qb and ball out…. I hope that if he gets his chance…. He dominates like he did in the spring game….

The other 2 may end up getting their shot also. I think at least 2 play Thursday night regardless.

My argument is Bailey’s stats are better than Miltons in a harder conference and harder games. Yet everyone is glowing over Milton and putting down Bailey. I want Milton to be a star and then I want Bailey to be a star. And I wouldn’t say Milton is so much further along. Milton was brought in as the guy and he was QB1 the day he got to campus. I’ll trust the coaches too and hope they are correct. Just saying it’s not fair to put down Bailey and not criticize Milton in the same regard. He wasn’t very good at Michigan. But that doesn’t mean he can’t be great here. He has everything you could want. I’m excited to see him play against BG.

This is part of why I don't have a problem with Heupel going to get his guy.

You bring in the guy you think will run your system the best, and then you let everyone else compete. The guy you think isn't on the same playing field you tell him as such, I'm sure the opportunity to RS was mentioned and we all see how that's gone.

They'll play because the coaches are still developing all of them, injuries can happen, COVID escalates the uncertainty and UT needs all three all-in. UT was willing to lose Maurer because he had a different attitude and it was best for everyone.

I think you are seeing things that aren't there. Just because Milton has stats and Bailey has stats doesn't mean they are equal or one is automatically better. Stats aren't created in a vacuum, and all have different circumstances. Different offenses, different expectations, different amount if time to learn proper reads...etc.

The head coach, who can develop that position, has watched and monitored his QB's to determine which one gives him the best chance to win now. Heupel also has expectations to be able to stretch the field and make a play with their feet when the play breaks down or they properly account for defenders.

Its a completely diff scheme though. Cant really hold it against Joe to that extreme. Harbaugh hasnt had a single QB yet play well in it at Michigan. At some point Harbaugh has to look himself in the mirror.

I understand but I gotta see it before I believe it and not against BG either.

I would bet we see all three QBs throughout the year.

I’m not sold that Milton performs well enough in game to put the other two out to pasture.
