True. They just want 50% on UT and 50% on UK...drink the juice. I mean, I've heard bookies sometimes make plays but I bet that's more rare these days. These books are becoming huge and corporate. And like you alluded to, they'd just not move the line and get a better deal if people are just going to go bananas regardless.

To quote Amon G. Carter, "Fort Worth is where the West begins. Dallas is where the East peters out." The cities definitely have different characters to them, but from a recruiting standpoint there is no difference.

I can promise you, the Christian aspect is not emphasized, it is not Baylor. The students are affluent, like to party, about 2/3 of the student population goes greek, and there's a significant influx from California. There's really not a ton of difference between it and TCU, and a lot of students apply to both. SMU is a little bigger overall, but that's from its graduate students and TCU actually has a few more undergrad students. TCU has a slightly lower acceptance rate but SMU's average SAT scores are higher.

Interestingly, Patterson is also a reason why Texas has had a revolving door of coaches. You can't lose to TCU consistently and expect to keep the coaching job at Texas.
