Virginia Tech or Nebraska would be smart to strongly consider Gary Patterson for their soon to be open head coach positions. He would be a great fit at either university. At 61 he still has plenty of coaching miles left in the tank.
Dang, that would probably be a genius hire by Nebraska if he were interested. He would at least stabilize them.

Maybe on his completion %...but Will Rogers was doing what he always does, that Mike Leach offense is all about short high % throws and chipping away yards for long drives.

344 passing yards was his 3rd lowest total of the season and he only threw for 1 TD, the 39 attempts was also his lowest of the season. Kentucky just couldn't get off the field and their offense was atrocious.
Either way...he executed at a very high level.

Would really like to see the Vols win this game. This is a real opportunity for Heupel and the new regime to create a lot of momentum for the program. If we lose this one and go 6-6, there will be NegaVols in the off-season who claim that we didn’t beat anyone that mattered, especially if we lose a bowl game. I’d really like to deprive them of that talking point. 7-5 would be the best first regular season of a new coach since Kiffin, and think of how much optimism we had right up until he jumped for USC. 8-5 would be the best start since Fulmer in 1993. Such an opportunity to change the whole narrative around our program.

Wait…what
I was at a kentucky site reading about their team and how they felt going against us….Apparently,Chris didn’t receive much action and some thought it was bc he had put the ball on the ground some….. The mods stated it was bc he had something going on inside him….. it wasn’t a physical injury nor was it due to the fumbles……It was also noted that he stood way away from the rest of the team for the rest of the game….. it’s a good time for their best RB to check out, imo.
