You're right it isn't compartmentalization. But you're wrong that it's the same thing as what terrorists do. It's human nature to try to rationalize when an unexpected tragedy or disappoint occurs, it's called a coping mechanism. Don't be part of the vilification outrage crowd. People abandon logic when a tragedy happens, and coping mechanisms are often part of the reason for that. It's nowhere in the vicinity of justifying thousands of years of premeditated mass murder.
Along with suicide in the process of mass murder so they can be a “martyr”

What happened at OSU is a drop in the bucket to what they are going to do to us.

The universities need to get together and tell these heavy handed morons to stand down.

I don’t know what those people were thinking upholding that ruling. Every time the NCAA has the opportunity to buy some goodwill (which they desperately need right now), they blow it spectacularly.

Everyone hates them, and they are a misstep or two away from destroying themselves.

Wow……. You seriously think people drive highly intoxicated at 156 mph every day?!?! And I don’t care what age he is, I’ve made plenty of mistakes and did a lot of bad things in my life. I never drove crazily while intoxicated and killed someone. Glad this is ok and an every day occupancy to you. I guess you should go tell her family that he is just young and this happens everyday and they will feel better. Holy hell man.
This is a good example of the kinds of posts people are talking about when they complain about you. The millennial rhetoric of "glad this is OK and everyday occupancy for you" strawman when you know that's nowhere near what he said. He even said he deserves to be punished in the post you quoted, but you want to sensationalize his response like a Twitter mob, so you ignored that part and responded like he said they guy should be allowed to walk away because he made a mistake, when the whole point of his post is that someone shouldn't be hunting him down and murdering him over a mistake, which is actually a pretty sensible take.

I wouldn't bring it up, but the other day you acted so surprised that you had a reputation for these kinds of responses, so I'm trying to show you why.

Maybe McGill is his daddy.

Ok, bad example.

Was trying to go the 'people who torture animals'...'murderers' line of thinking route. The comparison ends at using the word as a deflector..

Man… this is the third time I have quoted something and you have tried to come at me. I’ve tried to ignore it and say something funny to move on but you are acting like a child. Only you and Moco have ever said that. Literally only you two. Others quote me all the time and add me for my position. Even had others talking yesterday about meeting up. You are always negative and looking for a fight. It is getting old so please block me and I will block you and move on. I am obviously living rent free in your head and I’m tired of trying to ignore you coming at me every day. Move on and we will ignore each other. Grow up man. You just went off on another tangent to try and come at me. It’s amazing that five other people quoted his same quote and gave him grief, but you only came at me. Grow up man.

LOL ok man, you fooled me into thinking you wanted to be more self aware and were genuinely curious why people think of you the way they do. Someone provides a calm, logical response to you and you come at them so aggressively? Lesson learned. Keep walking around with your fly unzipped.

I’d appreciate some prayers for my family. Yesterday I lost my dad to a massive heart attack. He lives in Scotland so my family and I can’t attend the funeral because of COVID.

He was flawed but he was the person that got me into Tennessee Football. Always wore his power T proudly while there. Gonna miss the old man.

Sorry to hear man! Prayers for you and your family!

Something to keep in mind with the Oklahoma State thing is they have been keeping stuff from the ncaa and fbi for several years and are just now cooperating, that is different than us immediately cooperating so we will just have to wait and see what happens

The SEC has the power to stand up to the NCAA, maybe even destroy it. UT athletics, across all the sports, is great for business for the SEC, as great as anyone, RIGHT NOW.

The SEC is not stupid...they have to know that UT being great in football, men's and women's bball, baseball and softball, from soccer to ping pong and potato sack racing...the Vols being great across the board is the greatest business in the conference, even greater than Bama. Anyone who disagrees, just think what a top 5 to 15 football program, a Sweet 16 and beyond men's and women's bball program, a college world series baseball and softball program, and conference championships...all things that we are poised to do in the next 8 to 10 years...just think how much money Vol Nation will give as all that is taking place...just think about all the money we give now, and have been giving to irrelevance and mediocrity...now imagine how much will be given to success. We are poised, all across the board, and anyone who doesn't see it is blind. This is the fan base that packed Bristol Motorfreaking Speedway, and pulled off the greatest environment I've ever witnessed against Ole Miss.

If I'm Danny White, I present all that, down to the last dime and dollar, and I'd make the SEC show their loyalty to us; ask them to stand for us, if the NCAA drops an overweight hammer.

Man, What was it like never making any mistakes at 22 years old? No speeding or anything.. wow.
What he did was terrible and he should be punished, but it was an accident. He didn’t hunt this lady down and kill her on purpose. Accidents like this happen every single day
Not all accidents are equal. He didn't hunt her down and kill her on purpose, but he chose to get drunk, he chose to get behind the wheel of a car while drunk, and he chose to drive extremely recklessly while drunk. Bad choice after bad choice after bad choice. And in the end, he most likely won't receive a punishment equal to the crime. Chances are, even if he faces say, a 20 year sentence, he'll be out to still enjoy a large portion of his life. Yet the victim will still be dead and her family left to grieve.

Everyone has their own levels of forgiveness. I could certainly understand if the family of the victim never forgives Ruggs. Intentional or not, the actions that led to her death were certainly intentional, and his carelessness has robbed them of something precious that can never be replaced. Put in that situation, my immediate reaction probably would be wanting the guy dead. I can only hope I would eventually reach a peace that would allow me to forgive, but I can't guarantee I would. Put yourself in the position of losing a child, or a spouse, or a parent, or anyone you hold dear because someone decided to be stupid. How deeply hurt, how unimaginably angry would you be?

After seeing the deal with OSU it makes me believe we are intentionally dragging our feet on the internal investigation. Make it look like we are still searching for things until the clock runs out on the NCAA.

White knows what he is doing.

This what most schools are doing. Memphis has a good basketball team this year and want to play in the postseason. They asked for at least 6 extensions in their case, wanting to buy more time.

It is going to be Beldar's word against an army of folks that disliked him.

" Your honor we would like to enter into evidence the Gump started JG multiple times."

" Objection! Relevance? "

" Counselor I'm gonna allow that 'cause damn!"
Shows poor judgement.

Shhhhh....that doesn't fit the narrative some people on here want to construct about the Tennessee administration.
