They immediately got up and left en masse. The club level was honestly really cool with the eat what you want buffet lines, open bar, etc. i probably would’ve enjoyed that experience more if they weren’t playing UT…i did not realize how much they truly hate us. The people around me were extremely hostile, calling Tennessee fans (and the band) low class. I’ve been to other games there before…even UT UK games (my wife is a UK fan)…and I’ve never experienced that level of vitriol. I guess it’s because we’re normally sitting with regular folks rather than their most diehard (and presumably wealthy) fans last night lol. Normally it’s just a little playful ribbing. This wasn’t playful. Lol
On the radio the environment sounded incredibly hostile.

I can’t believe some of you are giving the Defense such a hard time. Did you watch the game? Have you paid attention to Kentucky this year or the last few years?

They have a very experienced and impressive OL, competent running backs, and a QB who can make plays with his legs. For years they have perfected an offensive ground-game, chew up clock, methodical game plan.

On the other hand, we score in like 10 seconds or less each possession.

We are also not Bama or Georgia with a full bevy of scholarship studs to constantly rotate in. We have like 32 guys, many of whom played almost EVERY SNAP!

It was just a perfect storm to show some of the weak points of our defense. You can tell how tired they are when they start missing easy tackles and letting the offense get past them.

And yet, somehow, somehow, despite playing the equivalent of two full games worth of snaps - they still held at the end.
This tired excuse, although a legit one , only explains part of it.
They must of been tired before the game started, rough trip up I guess, because they got beat well and often on the opening series.
And they didn’t play last Saturday.

I just watched that again… I’ve never heard an analyst so torn up over a couple yards

That was ultimately a stupid statement. Most elite athletes at top speed stride close to 7 feet which is almost 2.5 yards. So 1 step to the most 1 1/2 steps per stride. Just ridiculous.

I don’t claim to know a whole lot about recruiting, but if we don’t have multiple 5 star QBs looking at us , thinking I could absolutely have a monster career in that system, then we’ve got a marketing problem

Few things--

Still think we get Nolen... He has to see he will start day one here.

Recruiting/transfer portal needs to be on fire with O and D linemen and LB's..................................... and one other RB........... and Two WR's.... we gonna miss Velus and Payton next season.

RB's--- sorry, and I mentioned it last night-- Evans has glass ankles. He's played like one or two full games this season. We need to be looking for a larger experienced RB in the transfer portal just in case... Or Beckwith needs to wake the F up and lean into contact.

Great win-- we earned it and deserved it after all the times we've gotten screwed... I want Pitt and Ole Piss again.

I think we score the most points on GA they've had on them next week.

We are doomed on the recruiting trail, when it comes to defensive players. Just don't see how anyone is going to want to come to Tennessee.

Banks sitting in the living room of a recruit...

Recruit: How about playing time coach? You think I'll see the field?

Banks: Playing time? Son, you'll get all the playing time you want and then some.

Recruit: That sounds exciting!

Banks: Yes sir. Our defense is on the field 45-50 minutes every game. Lots of exposure.

Recruit: Wait. Wut? ....

If I were Huepel I would spend 100% of my recruiting focus on defense. That scheme he has on offense is good enough to recruit itself.

Linebacker has to be priority #1.

Every now and again Beasley and Banks will have a decent game but overall they just aren’t very good.

Our defensive starters get more playing time in a game than most get in a season!
