I rewatched it yesterday and actually thought the exact opposite. He missed a ton of open receivers and at least four deep balls that he tried. I was actually kind of shocked that he didn’t connect on a single deep ball for so long. We tried more than I thought. Biggest improvements come from game one to two. We shall see how he responds. We will need him to connect some deep shots against Pitt.

Field vision is a concern for sure. There were open receivers but he stayed locked on that 1st receiver and missed opportunities. I don’t know how much vision can improve but maybe in time the game will slow down and he’ll notice those open guys.

I think he’s 3rd solely on mobility compared to the other 2 qb’s. sprinkle in his throwing mechanics as well but in all honesty that makes zero sense because JH wants his qb to have a deep ball with a strong accurate arm.Bailey is pretty accurate that I can recall.he also made good decisions when pressure was on him in the pocket.which is a difference maker in a tight game.
Pressure was definitely a problem for him last year. Took waayyyy too many sacks (about like JG did under Butch, but he was fixed by Helton, so it's 100% fixable).

But last year (other UT QBs for comparison):

Hoping it was just his hubris thinking guys would be streaking wide open vs BGSU and him wanting to badly hit deep shots. Hoping Hype rips that out of him and gets him to take all the great, open guys over the middle and short. He was playing heroball...but he could and still get away with it. Hopefully next game he gets back to playing a regular style.

I think a lot of people were expecting a much more explosive offense

they have played 1 game man with a brand new scheme under a brand new staff. Joe has been here about 15 minutes. Maybe you were expecting too much too soon? Teams get better. Like I said, they’ve played 4 qtrs of football where it was clearly not perfect and still ran for 330. Have some perspective here.

I’m sorry but anyone predicting us to lose to Pitt didn’t watch the Umass/Pitt game….

Pitt is slow, their OL is terrible. UMass defense was awful.

Also, UMass OL was awful and made Pitts Defense look good.

We are definitely winning by atleast 3 TDs.
Lol

Honestly, imo Bailey would be gone if he had somewhere to go. Remember how UGA didn't want him? I don't think there's a lot of P5 interest in the kid
That’s a bold claim when he hasn’t ever entered the transfer portal to find out. I would bet you $1,000 he goes to a power five team if he transfers.

UMass is definitely worse than BG but 3 td’s is pushing it😂

Our defense is good enough to win by 3 so I am putting 3.

Pitt allowed UMass to get pressure with a 3 man front and UMass was bad. Pitts QB isn’t going to be able to scramble against us like he did them.

Think we win by 7 or so because we will find ways to shoot ourself in the foot but I’m not all that confident

No you are speaking your truth, meaning you could be right but most ppl with knowledge of the game know that one game in a new offense is not a good determination of truth…
I said Milton sucked. True
I said Milton was worse than the other two. True.

I never said bench Milton.

Don’t understand that logic. Milton played worse because other 2 didn’t play?

Questioning Pruitt is one thing, but Heupel has proven he can develop successful QB’s, even in the SEC. I just don’t get why we have to immediately go there. But to each their own as society has to criticize everything.
Well...
Milton didn't play good. (31.4 qbr)
Hooker didn't play much. (86 qbr)
Bailey didn’t play at all. (0 qbr but made no mistakes)

Statistically Milton made way more mistakes than the other two so technically, yes, Milton was worse than the other two.
