VN I love ya.

But...I am going to trust Coach Heupel on all things QB .

Bailey did great last season . Crap offense , crap team attitude , crap head coach that was pissed he was forced to play someone other than JG. At no point did any QB look prepared to play . They poured everything into JG. The kid was given 4 pass plays for crying out loud. I would also point out I remember we were pleasantly surprised by a few nifty runs he had. I am willing to bet Heupel has had a conversation with Bailey about taking a redshirt and being patient. Bailey has already shown patience and maturity by staying.

Quit dissecting Milton. He won . He found a way to score three times. He will get better under Heupel. Our QB's are being coached now. I also believe if Milton struggles we will see Hooker. Guess what Hooker will be prepared . Weinke was the worst. Chaney's offense was predictable and the worst. Shrout , Maurer, Bailey all looked they had been rolling boogers and grab assing at practice instead of being viable backups.

Are people crapping on HB to prove they are not @Hardy's dine and dasher?

You mean the people that trust the staff to play the best player? Those guys are the problem? The ones that aren't questioning the new coaches right off the bat, that think those coaches deserve a chance to show they know what they're doing? Yeah, what a pain in the ass those guys are. How dare they hope we're finally getting it right after 15 years?? Screw them.

Based on LAVOLs statement, Bailey is the best quarterback, but is not playing.

🤔 Think we've got to go with Milton at first he certainly has the intangibles. I do not know Milton, or listen to anyone around who pretends too. I have however heard him speak. Based on what I heard it seems to me he is resigned to get out there and rely on God given talents than to be a student of the game, which, at QB you have to be.

Now, he may take a giant leap in second game but, based on what weve seen in 4 years at Michigan, i doubt it. Harrison has best touch on the ball. And assuredly will get better.

I'll never deny that I'm a fanboy.

I also don't claim to be a football expert. I've actually stated the opposite. I'm not.

But it's foolish to dismiss a guy who hasn't won the starting job as a freshman. Indisputable. He may never be anything here. Or he may be the starter at the end of the season or next year and go on to do big things.

I'm sure you knew that Nate Peterman would go on to get drafted and still have a job in the league, huh? He sure didn't do that as a freshman or as a sophomore.

We don't know what HB's going to be yet regardless of if he's 1st string or 3rd string in 2021. If you think you do, you're not an expert either
Nate Peterman and Matt Simms collecting NFL paychecks are wild things in the world

And yet us blue collareds struggle paycheck to paycheck. Funny, was #Alpha in backyard with my 5 & 7 YO this weekend. It occured, I can throw a very tight, wobbly spiral that goes over people's heads with ease. Coulda easily taken Peter Man's or Simms' spots on a roster. Would love dat BGS coin.

I really hope for kids like you that you get to experience what it feels like when we are going good...then maybe you will understand us old farts.
I hate they dont know the feeling of the season being over after 1 loss, because the only real and acceptable goal was a national title. . . mid-90s.

Nope. He sucked at UGA too. With all the UGA talent his offenses were still lackluster. Most UGA fans I know were more interested in keeping Pitman than Chaney.

Some of the biggest pieces of recent revisionist history in our fan base are Chaney wasn’t in the bottom 25% of conference OC’s, Brian Maurer was anywhere close to SEC level, and Sam Howell would have come here if Pruitt pushed harder with Mack Brown at UNC.
I disagree….. I think Chaney is a good offensive coordinator….. he is a different breed as far as offensive coordinators go….. he runs what the coach wants him to run…..he was almost all pass under Dooley….. ran the bielema offense at Arkansas….. ran what Kirby wanted at Georgia and better than the two that replaced him…..ran a different style at Pitt and Purdue…

I really like Heupel. I was not thrilled with the hire at first but really like it now. Love his style and offense.

He seems like a likeable guy. He loves the players. Seems to love the school and our traditions.

The jury is still out on if he can recruit and build a squad at UT.

He is 1-0. That’s a great start.

I think this sums it up pretty well. Not much left to say of value. The next game will tell us more. We will have to wait until the UF game to start dialing in how the team is responding.

Exactly. He knows O's inside and out. He does not go rogue, he does what he is ordered to do. He made the mistake of signing on with the village idiot of wannabe head coaches.

I agree with all of this except that I was thrilled with the hire. My expectations for the hire were incredibly low. The last search had been a disaster despite UT appearing to have a solid roster and being one season removed from a string of decent years with a nice trajectory in 2014-2016. I thought if no one wanted the job then, how much less would they want it after the way Pruitt left it. To me, Heupel was a home run. I think he’s good enough to provide stability and relevancy.

Some more facts about the panthers:

They did score a little more in the COVID year but in 2019 they scored 14, 20 versus Ohio, 10, 17 versus Deleware, 12, 0, and 19 which is pretty low in 7 of their games.

Hooker was 13/22 for 260 yds in a 2020 game and 10/13 for 153 yds 2 TDs in a blowout win in 2019..

In the 2019 game Kenny Pickett was 10/26 for 103 yds passing.

I hated the hire when it was first made but after studying up on JH I became excited about it…. I don’t if he can get us to a championship level but I do feel that he can make football fun again.

I think its completely fair to say that Bailey still might do great things and maybe he's not playing because there's two talented upperclassmen on the team and he could benefit from a redshirt.

Maybe we should be patient and accept he's not going to start anytime soon and stop clamoring for him to be thrown in games.

Yep and stop going on talk shows claiming that he needs to transfer.
