Who cares? We have who we have, they have who they have. It will all shake itself out. This argument is fruitless. WE, along with UCF, are stuck with our coach for at least three years. What’s the point?

Can someone explain to me why the Knoxville News-Sentinel is writing an article about how the 12 former TN players who transferred to Power 5 schools did this weekend? Are they just that jaded they want to do whatever is necessary to make the University look bad? Did I just answer the question myself?

By the way I refuse to actually read the article or share it on here....

I'm not defending or praising Malzahn's offense but say what you want about, it has beaten Alabama more than once. I've forgotten but remind again me how long it has been since our offense has done that just one time? Arguments on here are so dumb sometimes, who cares what anyone else does if we can't do any better.

Maybe he doesn't succeed here...I don't know. I am pulling for him though, if for no reason other than he and his players recognize they can improve. No trying to explain things away as if it's not obvious to fans/media what's the problem.

This staff and now the players are taking responsibility and holding themselves accountable, I just hope that leads to success.

IS this offense TOO SIMPLE for the SEC?!?! Come back in two years for the answer!

I hate sharing one of their articles, but I assume this is what they were talking about. Gabriel essentially said Heupel’s offense is too simple, Malzahn’s is fast but more complex.

That is one of the criticisms of the offense but the Georgia tech game he is talking about is a funny example…. They had 660 yards of offense and Gabriel threw for 417 yds and 4 TDs. As for Missouri, Heup took over one of the least talented offensive teams in SEC history and immensely improved them.

Eh. Kiffin’s offense is simple too.. he does fine.

Anyways, we expecting a sellout Saturday? I want my girlfriends first neyland experience to be a true one. Hate it’s a noon game. Wish it was prime time.
Me too…. Probably be hot and miserable

Yeah, but we are Tennessee. If there will be an exception to Heupel immediately improving every offense he is a part of we will be it.

Exactly. People are so dumb sometimes. So much narrative building without substance. All they have to do is go back and watch the games from his time at Mizzou. There was nothing simple about that offense or its route tree. Highly successful and he made Locke into a top QB. In the SEC.

Yes, because a 21 year old kid with 0 SEC, or even P5 conference experience, knows what can and can't work in this league. Kid is still butthurt Heupel left.

Things is complex offenses are almost a gimmick. It's why teams that run them aren't consistently winning at a high level.

You need talent and then you need to limit road blocks for that talent to let them play fast and with confidence. If the system is simple and you execute it at a high level with great talent it'll be hard to stop.

This offense is simple. It’s a one sided quick decision offense.

It’s great. Master it. And you will play well and fast.

Exactly, or Nebraska's from the 90's. Or Bama's & Oklahoma's from the 70's.

Complex doesn't equal good. Execution & game planning = good.

Remember, the General was noted for reminding his teams that they would win before the game and attributed that to preparation and executing that preparation. I want a checker player who can beat a chessmaster. Not a chessmaster who can tell a checker player how much of a simpleton he is. We've had several of those...

Josh Heupel is going to kill it here. Unless he doesn't. I respect Heupel, he doesn't seem like an absolute clown like the last 3. Pruitt literally did not even care or try, so JH has that going for him at least. Ready for us to at least go out and try again, that's a step up from that clown last year.

He was pissed that Heupel constantly talked about family and was announced before he told the team.
Yeah he didn’t have any control over that and Gabriel is stupid for thinking he did. Also, Gabriel is stupid for what he said about Huepel’s offense lol. QBs have the ability to change the play at the line on what they see pre-snap.

If Gabriel felt uneasy it was because he was having trouble reading pre-snap, sounds like a bunch of excuses to me. Either way UCF posted over 600yds per game average of Offense…. Hueps offense was doing something right.

A Missouri fan told me that in CJH offense only one receiver is primary and all the others are decoys. That’s why Milton kept waiting on the primary to come open when other receivers were running wide open. He said the QB doesn’t have to go through progressions. He said it works against weaker opponents but not the very best of the SEC. We shall see I guess.
