Yeah, I feel like Heupel really doesn’t see OU as a “dream job” anymore. Especially after how they let him go.

And OU moving to the SEC removes the biggest perk of that job (being top dog in conference). He’s been in Missouri & Florida and now Tennessee, he’s got established recruiting roots in the southeast and he’s in a great place with an AD he has a great relationship with.

I think the alma mater thing carries more weight than ppl think

They are going to give him a BAG and he doesn't have to indulge in the SEC recruiting and week to week wars. He had secretly been committed to LSU prior to this. Again just as when Kiffin did it USC is a coaches dream. Recruiting is easy and less required to bring in a top elite class because Cali has pretty much all you need.

He bumped a post you put on here saying that Riley wasn’t going to USC. Now you acting like he had a secret agreement with LSU. How would you know if it was a secret? Acting like you know what’s up. Quit embarrassing yourself man. It’s pitiful.

Tennessee fans in the football forum freaking out about Heupel leaving for OU, meanwhile I’m sitting on my couch thinking about how all this turmoil is giving us a prime opportunity to poach some late 2022 recruits and raid the transfer portal for some studs that might not have been possible until today.

Anyone spent any actual time on USC's campus?

I haven't so it's an honest question. But that city was a dump when I was there almost three years ago, and USC is in the middle of it. I haven't heard a single person exactly make the claim its gotten better since then. I know a guy who just graduated with his masters from there and say he isn't going back.

There's dozens of schools with beach access. And the majority of those won't charge you 13% state tax in your NIL money or have homeless people actively participate in Spring practice. I don't know. I don't get the prestige of USC, mainly because I don't understand the fascination with LA at all as someone who used to have to go there regularly.

I think the relationship with your AD has more weight than a lateral move to go back to an alma mater that fired you the last time you was there.

Do we know how his relationship is with OU’s AD? I doubt most people would call that a lateral move right now

I'm originally from South Gate... SC is a dump. IMO
