he's the interim if I read correctly.

I guess I'm not near as forgiving as some on here. If I get fired from a job as a scapegoat to save my boss' brother's job, I'm not going back no matter what since that guy is still there. Add in I am now with a tradition rich program that is starting to win again with nothing but upside and even fatter paychecks headed my way with the opportunity to kick that former school''s azz someday.

Do we know how his relationship is with OU’s AD? I doubt most people would call that a lateral move right now

Same one that was there when he got fired.

I don’t think OU is going to have Heupel at the top of their list. Maybe they come calling, I mean we got no control over any of it either way. Just doesn’t strike me as the guy that would step away after a season especially when he followed the AD here from his last job.

He can revive a true sleeping giant here and is far enough removed from Fulmer’s era that he’s not doing it in anyone’s shadow.

Cause Riley has left big shoes to fill.

Clickbait. Be prepared for a LOT of this over the next week or two. Don't fall for it. The media knows Tennessee fans drive huge clicks during coaching searches. The media is going to use this and will probably just toss out crazy speculation as "sources" because it will get you to click.

If Heup and DW allow this speculation to go on for more than a couple of days, it’s program malpractice.

I wouldn't worry about any of our marquee HCs leaving this year. UT leadership has met with them individually, asked each one what they need to make their programs successful and worked with them to create a plan that gives them the resources they need. They all know that stability is important to UT, and UT has committed to all sorts of things-- staff enhancements, facility improvements and longer-term contracts. We want our coaches to make short lists-- it means they're doing well. They're also happy at UT and know that UT is invested in keeping them.

You know of any of these high profile portal players we have a shot at? Thoughts on Napier at Florida? Harsin considering leaving AU? LSU going to hire anyone?

You think they will get something out soon to quiet the speculation for recruiting purposes?

Truth. But it will not deter the more ardent trollers.

No it's not. It's the media looking for clicks. Tennessee doesn't have to do anything Tennessee doesn't want to do. Heupel is a fan favorite here (except for the bvs'ers maybe) after doing what he has done in year one. I think CJH is smart enough to play the long game.
