It was fun. But I feel like we all have fairly reasonable expectations this go around. I like this better.

I agree. It's a journey instead of a sprint. Everybody can take a breath and enjoy the ride now.

This staff and system doesn't require stockpiling elite talent to win. That's nice to have, but it is also going to be a management nightmare with NIL and the portal if that is what you must have to be able to win. Signing developmental talent with upside should be the Vols emphasis for a few years. The elites will join in the fun over time. Like where we are now.

Even though it almost always turned into being let down, I miss all the nugs AV would drop in some potential big flip candidate threads the week of ESD. Feels like it's going to be a very non-exciting one this year for our Vols - not that that's necessarily a bad thing.
finishing top 20, with room to improve via the portal, is exciting enough

Or I don't sit on VN to make sure I respond to every post in less than one hour's time? I have no idea who is better or who might be better. Get a life man.

I do know that until he came here, I never saw a single post from anyone saying Auburn had the best DL coach in the country. In fact, I saw plenty of people saying he simply benefited from getting top recruits like Carl Lawson and Montravius Adams to make his resume look better.

I also know that we aren't easily getting every single top DL recruit. In fact, we're not really getting any of the top DL recruits. If Garner were the consensus best DL coach in the country and everyone knew it, we'd probably have quite a few more.

You guys have sour grapes that a recruit chose another school over us, so you're making ridiculous statements like "he just jeopardized his NFL career to make NIL money."

Lol…we knew Garner was good at Auburn, and it was stated as such. How often did this board complain about losing Lawson, Wright, Adams, Brown, and on and on? All drafted by the way. If you don’t care to see what is happening, then keep your eyes closed.

I’ve gotta get out of this state. Tennessee calls to me… “come home son… come home.”
Or, as penned by the Avett Brothers,

“I’m changing the plans that I’ve been setting on, I’m scared by the way that my life’s getting gone,[Tennnessee] one day I’ll, someday I’ll come home”

(they actually say “Carolina”, so I ad-lib’d there)

Edit: And coincidentally, the line before what I posted above is “New York quit calling, New York leave me be”

Your definition of "established" is significantly different than mine and that fact makes your definition patently wrong.

I wasn't offering up a definition. Believe it or not - I didn't know if we offered up hotdogs every other week - pure speculation. Please enlighten me with some patently correct facts.
Note: I have been to their website - I have viewed the list of companies that they represent. I have seen the pic of the massive staff working for them.
If you have any direct connection to these guys, can you suggest a new web page and new pictures. Thx

Saw this beauty last night at the tail end of a 12 hour drive. It feels good.

Cade will be 23 in April. If he came back he’d be 24 before he even plays a snap of professional football.

I’m sure he wants to make as much money in the draft as possible, but Trey Smith pretty much showed that even if you’re undervalued you still have a path to a starting role.

I’d love to see Cade return, but he is probably better served to go while he is healthy and get a head start on his career. We’ll see what happens.
People said the same thing about Hooker too and he's coming back

Yeah, but there are only 32 starting QB's in the NFL. There are FAR more OL that get playing time. I love Hooker, but I don't think he is an NFL QB. He is a REALLY good college QB, but he's probably a career backup similar to Dobbs if anything.

I used to drive from Norman, OK to Knoxville. 14 hours on I-40, but seeing that drive really starts to suck at the end of Arkansas and then that sign would give me my second wind.

That's a haul! If it wasn't freezing last night I would have stopped at the sign and shaken the Georgia dust off of my feet. I love seeing that sign and the first distance to Knoxville sign. It makes my hillbilly heart sing.

Nope, just one of her classmates.
She’s dating a WR.

It’s really hard to be the scary, intimidating protective Dad when my daughter has good taste and picks truly nice guys to go out with. On the other hand, maybe they are so nice because I am so scary, yeah that’s it. 🤠

Some words of advice ONLY-----from my own experience-----Never buy a gift that has a cord attached to it for your wife's Anniversary, Birthday or Christmas present. Most women look for something more personal on those occasions :):) but good luck with that purchase

what....are you saying that a new iron and ironing board aren't a good idea

So no one is talking about Milton... does he stick around and try and improve to be the potential starter after next season? Where's his head right now?

Swain’s comments this morning about NIL were interesting. He said that free cookies and chicken are good enough for current roster guys, but that it isn’t enough to secure new recruits or transfers. He’s not worried yet.

Swain also mentioned that we may have backed off Evans knowing that Bigsby was entering the portal. He was just spitballing but thinks that Garner or Burns may have had some prior knowledge.

He also mentioned that if you want to secure an elite, top ranked QB the going rate behind the scenes is $1.5 to $2M.

Very true…..
I just didn’t want anyone to think I omitted Majors by not knowing the ND bias. :)

Gotcha.
(Not towards u).
I don't even think of just the 2nd place snubs but some of the other "wtf" moments in the past.

Jamal Lewis - was never going to win and that's fine, no problem there. But the shortfall of votes putting him in contention was pathetic.

Eric Berry - again understandable. But remember some media appeared down right pee'd off over the campaign.
Not just "unlikely" but truly aggravated it was a TN a defensive player. (Not far after the Manning/Woodson debacle). 🙄

Just 2 examples but it's like it became personal after TN fans calling them out, following the initial bs.
