Looked nervous. Also seemed like The defense stacked the box more on him. He was more accurate but I don’t feel like we found our qb with him in there. Personally I would go back to Milton and keep working with him. At least he forces the defense to space out. It helps our run game and I would give him a few more designed runs. We hoped It would be over when JG transferred but here we are again.

How much do things change if our WRs are catching balls from Milton earlier than Fall camp? Here's my big question - can the WRs learn to catch these passes? If not, you gotta go with another qb even if Milton is better. Ultimately, completions have to be made and our WRs have trouble even when the passes are spot on.

It’s really clear that Milton has a ton of upside and all the tools. he just has deep ball accuracy issues.
0 to 15 yards he is the best QB on the roster.

Hooker - has great feet but his accuracy is questionable at best.

Bailey - i guess he sucks at practice.

Big problem with HB is the oline couldn’t protect him and nobody would be scared of his running abilities like they are of hooker and that hurts the current offense I assume is what JH is thinking

Here’s some numbers for you..

Milton and Hooker were sacked 5 times who are a lot more mobile than Bailey.. don’t insult everyone’s intelligence saying Bailey is mobile enough, he’s not…

Without Milton’s and Hooker’s rushing numbers, Small had 18 yards on 8 carries and Wright had 15 on 11 carries.. for a grand total of 33 freaking yards.. that’s with a true duel threat handing them the ball.. you think HB helps those numbers?
I feel like your on par with the call now for ya free readin lady. Vols gave em hell today. Bailey can be a beast in this offense. Relax mane

Don’t understand why this concept is so hard to grasp. Our offensive line sucks and they would have eaten Bailey alive.

I don’t think Milton completes those passes to Warren. He seems incapable of throwing anything to the middle of the field unless it’s 50 yards or more.

Any fanbase in the country would be saying the same things or worse if they were in our position. The notion that fan expectations make our job particularly undesirable is a load of crap. The admin and most of the fans I. Florida we’re ready to run McElwain out of Florida after winning the division back to back.

Yeah I think coaches look at a place knowing the fans are unreasonable and think, can I win there pretty quickly and keep them happy?

They then read about how many players we lost, that we have 70 scholarship players; there is an NCAA investigation and we’ve sucked for 10+ years, we play Bama every year when Georgia and Florida don’t, and all of this is on top of unreasonable fans. They answer that question: NO!

That’s all I’m saying.

We’ve lived that NO answer multiple times these past few searches. I’m not suggesting anything that isn’t plainly obvious.

I figured this game would get us to 6, so I'm disappointed. We kind of had the perfect storm against us....

Bad refs. Bad discipline. Bad injuries. Bad covid situation. Bad NCAA eligibility issues.

Yeah our QBs suck but man we just needed ONE break with all those things happening and we didn't get it.

Yeah, it sucks that we keep finding ways to beat ourselves. But what would really help UT is to finish 3rd in the SECE. So I'd give up a close Pitt L with key starters out to beat SCAR, Vandy, UK and/or Mizzou to get back in the Top 3 in the East with UGA and UF. That would help with recruiting, which needs a boost. If we're playing the long game, playing it right means winning in the SEC.

Tough to lose a game honoring Majors, though. Helluva guy. Wish UT could've won it in tribute.

At this point it’s hard to say because most of his passes are too far over them to see if they can catch it. He did have more air under his passes today but still over shot them. When hooker came in they had no respect for his game and receivers didn’t have the same space. Neither guy is The guy but Milton opens up the field for playmakers whether it’s pass or run.

I bet Bailey is fine at practice, but coaches know he’s one dimensional and would take a ton of sacks

Here is the deal with Bailey - the coaches just don’t think his skill set is a good match for this offense. The Briles-based offense that Heupel runs is predicated upon spreading out the defense and trying to get a numbers advantage in the running game. The QB being a part of that running game is an essential part of their scheme, and HB doesn’t give them that.

That doesn’t mean HB is a bad QB and wouldn’t excel in a more pocket-passer system. He might even be the best QB we have if they tweak some things and play to his strengths. It just means they are trying to give the other two QB’s who (theoretically) fit their existing system better every chance to win the job.

Harrison Bailey. F*** practice. Another staff who’s willing to die on that hill.
