I think our 1st team defense is solid. I wouldn’t say good but the are close. We need depth plain and simple. When you are thin at positions, you play guys too much or have a drop off when the 2nd string comes in. That’s why you would see us look really good at times and no pass rush other times. They are tired or inexperienced…or both.

I feel our biggest needs are as follows:

A legit “franchise QB”
More dynamic D-linemen
More depth on OL
A couple of dudes at WR

He has to stay on top of that. Only way to keep your ammonia levels regulated is the lactulose. I learned that the hard way. Don't put it on yourself. He has to be responsible for his meds. He knows he needs to take it. I know it tastes god-awful, and its effects are not fun, but he has to force himself to keep up with it.

He's too sick to take care of it himself. Mobility is an issue even when his amonia is down. He's very good about taking it even though I know it tastes terrible.

I told Jack Burton before the game we were about equal with Pitt. Nothing I saw changed my mind.

When you're equal levels the difference in winning & losing comes down to who makes less mistakes. They did and they won.

I will say that the new defensive staff has thus far impressed me. Especially the LB coaches. Imagine how good that group would look with some 4/5 stars back there. Banks is a converted RB, Mitchell, Page, & Beasley are 3 star guys that probably don't see the field at most SEC schools except on special teams. But they are competitive as hell.
I agree and we are a defense by committee once we have more depth we’ll be alright

Haha “they are still only in year 2” but you have been saying nothing but negative stuff towards this team and they have only played 2 GAMES.
Yeah, as far as matchup and experience not sure how far ahead MZZOU is, UK isnt good, but they have a lot of experience over us. Everything ive said is true about this team

No one can tell me Hooker didn't outplay Milton today.

Two really bad plays... And about a dozen routine plays and really good plays Milton would have never made.

Really calls into question the "Trust the cosching staff" like of reasoning. I don't know if all our WRs lose 30% of their practice speed in games, or if the air over the practice field is denser than it is in Neyland, but even if the reports of him killing it in practice are true, he clearly can't be trusted to translate that to games.

For now, I think you have to roll with Hooker. HB might be better than him in the passing game. But with how undisciplined we looked on offense, we are going to need Hooker's eraser ability with his legs.

It does taste terrible, and I can relate to the mobility issues, but I learned to keep a bottle close by to take it when I needed it. It's a sucky situation to be in, I know I hated it, but you do what you have to do.

A couple of dudes at WR

1. A legit “franchise QB”
2. A deeper and more talented OL
3. A deeper and more talented DL
4. A deeper and more talented LB corps
5. At least one dynamic TE (because based on video I’ve watched, those guys can really EAT in Huepel’s offense)

Our offensive skill guys and DB’s are serviceable.
