No one can tell me Hooker didn't outplay Milton today.

Two really bad plays... And about a dozen routine plays and really good plays Milton would have never made.

Really calls into question the "Trust the cosching staff" like of reasoning. I don't know if all our WRs lose 30% of their practice speed in games, or if the air over the practice field is denser than it is in Neyland, but even if the reports of him killing it in practice are true, he clearly can't be trusted to translate that to games.

For now, I think you have to roll with Hooker. HB might be better than him in the passing game. But with how undisciplined we looked on offense, we are going to need Hooker's eraser ability with his legs.
Hooker did outplay him. But he also has had 3 turnovers in just over 2 quarters of ball played, including the game sealing one today.

He's too sick to take care of it himself. Mobility is an issue even when his amonia is down. He's very good about taking it even though I know it tastes terrible.

P.S. - Sometimes the best medicine is tough love. Don't let his condition stop you from holding him responsible. He needs to take some control over this. It'll help him in the long run.

I am sad. And frustrated that everything possible went wrong after the first QR
It went about how I really thought it would, but I was engaged watching it until the end, unlike anything I saw from last years games. I think if we ever figure out the frigging QB position, we might have something.

It's also easier to stand & sling it down field in practice when you're safe from actually getting lit up by a defender.

The passing game was 66% for 2 TDs/1 INT & 238 yards, so we did improve from last game. But most of that came from Hooker. He came in and has earned it imo. I also think his experience will be a difference maker going to the swamp.

I thin WR is ok. Someone has to get the ball to them. TE played well today also.

I just don’t think we have a WR on the roster who can go get us a big catch when we need it. We have fast guys. Solid guys. You need that dude who is gonna make strong contested catches.

But he does run and throws better. Just like people say about Milton, CH can correct those. LOL Seriously, I don't think we got the right QB for this O yet.

Yeah I’m ready to ride with Hooker.

He’s good enough to lead us to a bowl game.

None of them ever had a chance to make a contested catch. They were also wide open all game long. WR is definitely low on my concerns.

I still would ride with Milton. Not super excited about any of our QBs on the roster, but I still think his deep throws can be fixed by Heupel. He generally is a good decision maker in the passing game. Plus, much more of the offense is on the table with Milton as opposed to Hooker. TOs too.

Although I don’t have beef with anyone who would rather see Hooker.

Not a fan. I think you are going to get what we have already watched with Hooker. I would go back to Milton.

I feel like he would have hit those open players at the beginning of the game-- and as Butchna said, he came in cold-- wasn't expecting to play.

I said in my post in the pregame thread that I just didn't have the confidence that we would win so I am not throwing in the towel. There were some really dumb penalties done today by some players that cost us some points. So, we really can't point at Hooker and say he cost us the game. There were plenty of things that cost us. But that penalty on that FG made no sense to me at all. Pitt came out smelling like a rose on that one. UT was the loser on that call. Just didn't get that call by the refs

Lost the TO battle 3-0
13 penalties for 134 yds
5, maybe 6 overthrown balls
Blowing a 4th and .5 that would've tied the game, after a bad spot

Officiating was wretched and UT should be aggressive in addressing but will not. It was a winnable game and we didn't capitalize when it mattered. Fix it, get better and get some of our key players back. Big picture: SEC play matters more.

So long as this mentality within the UTAD continues we will never reach the top tier again.

Yeah, I agree Hooker did enough he should get the nod, but I expect to see HB some next week. It'll be interesting to see how he does.

It's clear adrenaline gets the better of Milton in games. He's incredibly talented, but he continues to overthrow his receivers most of the time.

I still believe you trust the coaches until they give you reason not to trust them. At this point, the Milton project should move to the backburner. But we'll see whether Heupel and staff share that conclusion.

Hooker runs much better as well!
Idc if Milton can Chuck it over the mountain, doesn’t do a daggum bit a good when you can’t hit a wr in stride!
