Hooker didn't play all world tonight. That's fair but the team responds to him and they score points. Tonight it was not enough. We didnt do some things well... Our D got handled and officiating was as bad and blatant as I have ever seen. 45 points usually wins games..

I’m still all in with Heup in case anyone was wondering. This garbage game will have no impact on our momentum
Absolutely. We hit a setback, nothing more. Adversity like this will bring this team closer together. And in all honesty, it's completely possible that a loss gained us more than a win would have. Hopefully, next year, this team has that chip on their shoulder that pushes them to go that much further.

The truth is I care too much about this football team. I want them to win so badly. I can take a loss but not when it is decided by the refs. Yes, we shouldn’t have been in that position. But we were in that position due to a lot of bad spots, missed penalties and game changing calls like holding that had been ignored all game.

I wish I could enjoy it more but losing 3 games due to officiating has about done me in. I think I could be better if I didn’t care so much.

Without Alonte, our DB’s were exposed. We really are very bad and I’m wondering if we are gonna lose a few games because we can’t stop anyone. We might be a 6 win team if we don’t get some DB’s and LB’s on the field. Banks is the only guy in the back 7 worth a darn. We better get at 5-6 transfers in who are ready to play D now and a couple of OT’s.

Regardless, I think college football is using their officials to keep Tennessee mid tier. If we are mid tier then fine. However, let the dang thing be decided by the players and coaches. I tired of these outcomes being zebra screw jobs. I literally won’t to see teeth and blood on the ground after beating those guys to a massive pile of broken bones. That’s not a place I want to be. Why can’t it be just a game I enjoy but don’t feel like I did as a player after a loss? I need help.

Hooker made some great decisions and some wuts. He made some good passes and some duds. He helped the team score 45 points when #2 would have topped out at 17 max. Hooker is his own version of Dobbs without a doubt. Will see how far that takes them next season.

The more I looked, I think the field conditions affected some of his throws. It’s hard throwing a ball when your feet keep slipping or you think they might.
Heup had a similar track record in that game as Hooker. The game was lost in the second quarter. We had momentum and then they just went into a shell on O. D did good to hold them to 3 FG's instead of TD's in that quarter. It could have been worse. The game could have easily been won in the last 44 seconds. That was some bizarre play calling going for bombs when you need 15 yards to be in solid FG position and you have time outs. Running the ball ate up over half of the time. Why? But still, you should win a game when you score 45 points in regulation.

So Banks showed up for the game big time. Who else? Which is the problem. A few guys had a few solid plays, but overall that was as pathetic as it gets on D even with the picks. Bad high schoolish secondary play. Why did Burrell keep getting to play? Beasley - c'mon man. D-line got whupped. Not strong enough with good enough technique to break free of the holds that were never called.

Portal. All defense. Buy them all.

I see a lot of people writing off players. A year ago, I had written off Theo Jackson. He is now one of my all-time favorite Vols. These are still young men developing at their craft, improvement is needed and new players will enter the equation, but these players aren't finished developing. I never thought Theo Jackson would have the season he did nor did I think Shawn Shamburger would grade out as the best slot corner in the country in 2019; however, they both developed later in their career. Not everyone who is struggling is going to turn it around, but some will.

Tonight is probably the clearest example we’ve seen at just how badly Pruitt recruited DBs. The fact of the matter is if two of Burrell, McCullough or Flowers are starters next year we are in big trouble.

Falls in love with length (twss)

At Bamer when you got 7 NFL guys generating rushed passes it works.
