df 158 yards in penalties. why any officiating crew feels they need to insert themselves that much into a game to me is unfathomable?! it's assurd.

Defensive coaching staff should also be included. Players doesn’t appear coached up imo.

I dont agree with this. We do not have athletes or many of them that are D1 guys.... Our secondary is complete trash outside of Theo and Alontae. The others im not sure could play for UTC. Hoping Turnage and Charles step up. We are going to need them. Burrell may possibly be the worst cb I have seen in Orange. Pruitt and Ansley were both regarded as specialist with DB's, we are absolutely not D1 in the back end or at LB imo. We need impact guys. We have none of the back end or at LB

Our team played above its billing this year. Guys fought hard in bowl game against a well coached and probably more talented roster, esp on defense.

We keep getting officiating crews that feel it necessary to insert themselves to tune of 60 yards for home team and 158 yards for away team. That should never happen. Yes they missed the call at the end. But this crew has been reprimanded in past.

How can this keep happening within cfb? Happened with Ole Miss crew too I beleieve.

These dipshits can review stupid plays all game. wasting countless minutes...This game was 4 hours long...and you're telling me fans who waited to see the crescendo cant be rewarded with a review?!

How in all that is holy does that make any sense?

You know, I would say there's been maybe a grand total of 30 game minutes total out of the 780+ we played this year that I didn't have hope of us winning the game. It has been a very long time since I could say that, and that I've been entertained by our games that much. Definitely looking forward to next year.

How games are officiated is in need of major reform. Continuing to ignore an obvious problem is going to hurt the game. People don't watch games to see refs screw over the players who are out there giving their all for their team.

We need to get some or have some grow into a difference maker on the defensive side of the ball….. Purdue is a lot better than our fans was giving them credit for….. that qb is legit.

I agree but I’m not sure what the correction is…. It’s an issue at all levels of sports.

Was it just me or did Hyatt look to have a pretty good game? Seem to beat his man very often. Hooker had a couple bad throws to him that would have probably resulted in 6.

Hooker was hit on the arm in the throw that fell short late when Hyatt was open deep.

The game thread was complaining about Hooker’s first two long completions to Tillman. He was hit on his plant leg on the first one, and he was knocked down a split second after the second one.

Curious who you think he should replaced with? Keep in mind whoever you pick is going to be playing with a Conference USA talent level. How many starters on defense do we have that would crack Bama or UGA’s two deep?

Yeah….. it has to get better and will as we recruit and build more depth….. Purdue’s lineman were easily getting to the second level against our linebackers….. if you can’t stop Purdue’s rushing attack then you are not going to handle the rest of their offense.

I know it seemed like they had a bunch of 6-8 yard runs, they had 93 rushing yards on 33 attempts in a game where they had 627 total yards. It was the pass rush and secondary that were bigger problems.

Biggest gripe with this staff is seemingly refusing to play underclassmen that are more talented. Tank needs to be benched and Slaughter or Charles take his spot. Turnage should be playing over Burrell. Why haven’t we seen Willis or Mohan more? We have one linebacker. Play the young guys and see what they can bring. It seems they trust the older players more but they lack athleticism and play among ability of the younger players. It was obvious the talent gap on defense. Also, RT is terrible. Get another transfer on top of mincey.
But every game was fun this year and this team fights for each other. They don’t give up ever. That’s culture and will be huge for the future. Even with how bad our defense played at times and the missed Tds, we should have won. Props to the coaches. We have a bright future.

I will probably change my mind in August, and I did enjoy the experience with my son. But I had thoughts that I won’t spend the money again for a game until something changes. It’s just not fair to our kids because our program has changed in 11 months.

But the Music City Bowl should be embarrassed by several things yesterday, and the officiating was one. Yet they had an attendance record, so I doubt they care.

I just brought up the run bc it was where I was most disappointed…. We did a really good job when we knew they were probably running/ short yardage but was getting gashed on other downs….. we know the secondary is a weak spot especially with Alontae out but it’s extremely disappointing that we couldn’t at least make the QB move a little bit in the pocket. If you can’t do that….. then that qb is going to eat against even what we would consider good pass defenses.

Purdue averaged 2.8 yards a carry

Tennessee averaged 4.6 yards a carry

Each team had 2 sacks.

Not sure where you are getting that Purdue dominated the LOS.

True story. Biggest difference I saw in the game was the LOS. Not sure why people talk around it but our offensive line is slaw. Of all the position groups I have said all season they have shown the least amount of progression. I think the defensive line plays to the best of their abilities and seem to be disciplined but the talent ain’t there. When you can’t beat your man one on one and the QB has all day he is going to find someone open. Towards the end of the game I was for sending the entire house and taking a chance versus letting their QB systematically pick us apart.

Was surprised by how fast Princeton Fant appeared to be yesterday. IS he using the covid year to be a super senior? If so, he could open up the middle more which adds another level to this offense
