How do you fix dirty refs calling BS PI?

Equip each ref with a device similar to a lie detector. Every time they make a call they know is BS it sends a voltage strong enough to uncork their bowels and make them s*** their pants. Then have their pants lined with a chemical that catches fire when it comes into contact with human fecal matter. Then we can see that they WERE full of s*** and that they are clearly liars, liars, with their pants on fire.

I’m on board with this approach.

Refs deciding that they called the ball dead in their head even though they hadn’t blown it dead is not okay. That was a touchdown.
It was the most asinine reason I’ve ever heard. I literally could not believe they claimed “I thought so in my mind, therefore it counts even though the whistle was a full half second after the TD”

And this is why the ACC, Big 10 and PAC 12 are scared of us, because they can't compete. In any given year 4 to 6 of the nations top 10 teams reside in this conference. And those at the top of this conference can't be beaten by then 8 out of 10 times.
Who are the 4-6 SEC teams in the top 10 this season? I only see 3.

I do agree that UGA and Bama are light years above the rest of college football, but it’s a pretty steep drop to Ole Miss after that and then even further down to teams like UK and Arky or ATM.

Exactly. The whistle is the objective outward manifestation of when the referee decides that forward progress has stopped. Not when they decide in their mind a couple of seconds earlier.

we 'struggled' against the 6 teams who had veteran players and depth. I mean if you think about, Matthew Butler played 80+ snaps a game. Think about that.

How can you expect a defense to hold these offenses, esp well coached like Saban's, Kiff's, and Brohm's to any sort of in check? You cant blitz, QB sees it all day. Line cant get a push. If you do blitz or play zone, they throw over middle and you get torched.

So im not sure why people demonize Banks. The guy is a helluva coordinator. Granted we stunk it up against Purdue, they did hold to three FG's and had two INT's.
We were 117th in first downs allowed
We were 120th in red zone defense
We were 122nd in passing yards allowed
We were 60 (woo hoo) in rushing defense
We were tied for 32nd about 10 other teams for interceptions.
We were 103 in 3rd down defense
We were tied for 54th in 4th down stops
We were tied for 42nd in sacks
We were tied for 103 in recovered fumbles
We were tied for 90th in scoring defense
We were tied 98th for total defense

I didn't see the stat for TFL but it sounds like we were good there so we've got that going for us.

We literally sucked at every meaningful defensive category that I could find. We couldn't stop the run. We couldn't stop the pass. We couldnt sack the QB. We couldn't get off the field on 3rd down or 4th down. I can't believe the excuses that you guys have for Banks. It as Sunseri level bad. Vandy was statistically better, significantly, on many of these stats.

I'm not calling for the guy to be fired but tied ignore how pathetic this defense was is burying your head in the sand.

I remember when the umpire that screwed the Detroit tigers pitcher out of a perfect game came out the next day or two and publicly apologized and admitted he made a mistake.

Reckon we will get something like that from these refs? Probably not

Did better than many other teams "belonging" in the playoffs
ND...Mich St come to mind easily. Michigan did far worse vs an inferior opponent.

Cincy being within 11 of #1 going into Q4 is much much better than many #4s have fared. And they would have given #2/#3 everything they could've handled. They 100% belonged. I mean shoot, if not them...then WHO? #5 ND who they beat by double digits? 😆

He also did not wave the play dead with his arms until well after Wright touched the ball down in the endzone.

Also if he were not rigging the game there is no way he and his buddy would have prevented the replay from being viewed. Straight up criminal activity. Not a mistake.

Obviously tackles for a loss and interceptions are both very meaningful stats. With all that said, I’d still argue we overachieved preseason expectations on defense.

If you told me none of our transfers on d would make a major impact, I would’ve expected our D to be even worse than it was. Can’t properly evaluate this staff without more talent

Boggles my mind the amount of people mad at Cinci being in the playoff

They were obviously good enough

People seem to forget this every year, but outside of UGA-OU in 2017, the semifinals pretty much suck. Maybe Clemson-Ohio St. in 2019.

I've got a feeling Iowa wins too. Did UK beat a team with a winning record this year? Iowa was #2 at one point, before crapping the bed. Probably be a close game decided by. . . the refs. . . who's reffing their game?
One of the worst offenses in the country. 4.5 ypp. Not watching games yet, but I'd be surprised if Iowa can win. They'd have to hold UK to 17 or less imo. God theyre awful on offense...and so overrated as a team.

Remember seeing someone after the bowl game post that they hoped Heupel tweaked some things during the off-season.

If you’re Heupel, what are two things you tweak? One on offense and one on defense.
When it's 1st and goal within the 5, stop passing. Idk how many critical situations this happened to us this year, I clearly remember 2. Maybe a third. Where we passed and got sacked or a hold and just went backwards. Wish to see more QB sneak behind HH when we're only 2 freakin yards away. Jmo

Defensively - dear god go hire jancek in some capacity and let him and martinez show how it's done on 3rd down. Or some other 3rd down guru. Can be an analyst, idc. But we absolutely have to fix 3rd down D or we'll never get over the hump, no matter how many meaningless TFLs we get or how many we score.

Given the offense we run, we will give up more yards because other teams are going to get more possessions. That said, the main defensive categories we need to excel in are red zone defense, 3rd and 4th down defense, sacks, and creating turnovers. We definitely need to see improvement in all these areas next year.
