I wonder what the going rate for a 5* is?
From the OU mod - where the small group of OU boosters attempted offering the ole "100k for a 5*"...it is about 1 order of magnitude above that right now.

I'd say a fair bit of that is acting in a "veiled market". Nobody really knows what others are now willing to offer. Everyone believes everyone else is stepping up the figures...so they do it as well. A self-fulfilling prophecy.

Hey man. Can you get your boy Aranda to give a few clinics at UT. That Baylor defense was filthy. Their team tackles so physical and well overall.
I watched a couple of their games this year and thought the same thing. Those guys play with a nasty streak on defense. I would love for UT to develop that kind of attitude.

I don't believe 100k would have even gotten a kid in the top 250 this year if there were even one other program interested.

I'd say most, not all, 5 stars are probably getting a high 6 to low 7 figure "NIL" deal. A&M just took it to a different level. I think they're banking on buying one class and having it carry them to a championship by adding strategic pieces in future classes. I'll be shocked if they repeat a similar class, but they've really set the bar high. A&M was just handing out "NIL" deals to kids on visits and then going over the top with "NIL" deals. Someone track where Nolen and also his family live next season...

"So who are among Freeman’s top candidates? Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Iowa State defensive coordinator Jon Heacock, Auburn defensive coordinator Derek Mason, Tennessee defensive coordinator Tim Banks, current Jacksonville Jaguars safeties coach and former college defensive coordinator Chris Ash, and current Cincinnati Bengals linebackers coach Al Golden, the former Miami and Temple head coach are all under consideration and that Freeman also is holding some options close to the vest. What are they supposed to learn? That when the other team throws up a prayer on third and fourth down that the bent ref will call PI or some other 🦬💩 call against the defense...therefore extending four-six drives that ended with points that otherwise were dead?

What exactly do you learn from that?

I'm not a Burrell fan at all. Wish him well as a person and a Vol, but just don't see him being a starting CB at this level.

That being said, I felt horrible for the screw over he got in that mockery of a game. It's just not right to do any player for any team that way - period. It was obscene.

Again - no more ACC officials or games if at all possible. Had enough with cheaters.

80% of the board wanted to fire banks a few days ago

This statement should be read as Venebles saying "we are in the works with counter offer".
I hope they get a deal with him. I for sure do not want him at Georgia, however, based on what has happened at Georgia, he want hurt those of us in the SEC anyway.
