Winning doesn't create that much money. I've said it before Winning isn't isn't that important. The common fan isn't that important. The money generated from TV is roughly 50% of your revenue. There's very little incentive to go all in to compete at the top levels.

There's limited amount of booster money. If you want your boosters to pay 25-30 mil to NIL deals the potential is for $25-30 shifted from donations to the AD to the NIL thus a net loss to the AD. That's annually.

As I said yesterday, being the Washington Generals is no problem for the administrators. Because the Washington Generals always make bank. It is a problem for us. Because the Washington Generals have no fans.

What's stopping any elite player from entering the portal every year to get more money or a better offer?

Sounds like A&M has figured it out with multi-year deals.

Otherwise everyone is going to be issuing statements and "seeing what's out there" henceforth.

They should just present a list of guys that have played WR and RB for the Titans this year, as well as the defensive numbers from last year to this year.

Beat the Texans and lock up the 1 seed next week and I don’t see how he doesn’t get it other than being hindered by the fact he coaches a small market team.

To be fair though, you already pointed out the "why"...the money is going to the stadium. Assuming Heupel & company can win enough to get folks in the stadium the money will be there.

So really we'll know how serious the university is when Heupel is entering year 4 or 5. Stadium will be done...hopefully he's won 7+ in each of the first three seasons here. That's when you see top 15 classes turn into top 5 classes all at once (happened at Clemson, A&M & Georgia doing it now)

The stadium point was:

We'll donate $350mm for stadium upgrades

But not $10mm for a top 10 or top 5 competitive class.

Clearly the money exists and to pay for non-financial return (to the donor) projects.

I'd just like to see us put donations toward something that directly helps. Cut 1/10th of the upgrades and pay for 3 great classes. Get more analysts. Spend more on recruiting budget. Whatever it is.

If there was ever a time for an instant top 10 class, unfortunately it was this year. The standard new HC bump year. To Pruitt's fault, that was never possible. If we want to suddenly jump in recruiting in y4/y5, after all the "new" has worn off and the "rebuild" angle is long gone, it will take something special (paying like TAMU, winning really big like Clemson). UGA had a #1 class in Y3 already and #3 his first full class...tamu was #4 with Jimbo's first full class...neither had to wait. We will though. Unlike them we'll have to actually prove some things first.

I was sitting on a Belichick +1800 ticket all year. He was the favorite for a week like 2 weeks ago, I thought I was gonna make it out alive.

Vrabel should win. If he were doing this in a larger market he'd be worshipped.

So what we want about Rusty but he actually knows things. He is often at a recruits HS when he knows coaches are visiting etc. Our guys are nearly worthless. They were stuck at home in Covid protocol before there was Covid…. Tapping keystrokes and stuttering responses in indefinite fashion as always….

More reason to sit at home and watch in HD. I think trying to shift the NIL to the fans is a crock of ****. The university is making anywhere between 50-75m every season in revenue as is, there's money that doesn't need to be leeched from the fans to work out better NIL funds.

Agree. Too many other things to give 20 bucks toward, Like college tuitions for my children who wants an education so they can just make a living on their own. I will never give money directly to buy a player. Government already waste too much of my earned money on stupid stuff. Certainly am not going to let the University waste more of it.

But 8-5...9-4...10-3. One of those 3 should be our official record. Absolute worst season of gamewinning BS I've ever seen. And in Y1 when Heupel could have sold going absolute bonkers after a 3 win season. The potential to sell...and now it being stolen from us... that makes it even worse.

Ya can't convince me if we don't win at least 2 of those 3 and go 9-4 ...or 10-3...we aren't skating toward a top 10...maybe top 5 class next year.

I hope Heupel sells it all to the team as a warpath and revenge tour. Tell em we're gonna get screwed, so let's not even let the games be close!!
