I’m sorry, but if what is being said I’m here is true, that is a loser’s mentality. Well our culture is great and everyone is happy getting their butt handed to them by Alabama for the 23rd straight year.

Loser mentality.
Ya… I completely agree. Losing to Bama every season by 24+ is terrible to me. Crushes me. But hopefully we can somehow get this NIL straightened out and land elite talent Top 10 classes to compete. Reading the last few pages don’t give me confidence though… sounds like we want to be Iowa or something lol.

I watched them for the first time against Ole Miss and holy smokes I was impressed. If they can field a defense like that then we can too. We don’t need the best defense in the nation with our offense. Something close to theirs and we’d compete with GA and AL.

I've caught a few. They are fast and like you said arrive with violence.

I just wants some dudes like Baylor’s defense. He!! surely we can get some like them and develop them like they did. I’d love to have their defense.
Big 12 defenses usually suck!
Big 10 offenses are usually slow!

WTF????

I'm willing to wait and find out. I'm honestly tired of pulling so called elite dudes only to see them beat up their dealer on campus and never amount to anything. I do think we need to swing at a few questionable ones though. Maybe they keep their head on straight surrounded by guys like Justin.
I think you pick and choose some key players that are both extremely talented and high character guys. I think you do what it takes to get a qb that's a difference maker. Obviously, one you think fits in with what you want. Maybe that's a winning formula.

I think your post is very valid. Not all 5 stars are created equally. Look at our recent blue chippers.

Also, you bring them in, do they jump for an extra $100?

You're painting a very dismal picture where Tennessee doesn't seem to want to compete. If that's the case, our program is in serious trouble. Are there players we';; be willing to pay big money for, or does the fact they want big money make them "ethically questionable"?
I believe in essence what LA Vol is saying is Huepel is having to prepare the foundation, before building a multilevel building.

He's attempting to avoid the issues Butch Jones created for himself. This tells me two things. 1)Huepel is being methodical, cerebral. 2) He plans on this being his destination, he's not building it cheaply to jump to a better job.

Huepel changed the culture in the football athletic facility in a matter of months. Word travels. Those negatively recruiting TN will have less and less to use against us. There comes a time when all that negativity begins to look petty to recruits. Kentucky already did damage to themselves this year by doing that and taking the L at Kroger.

As our profile changes and the interest is there will be a natural transition for better NIL deals for our recruits.

I thought LA Vol worked in the athletic department, or adjacent to?
I wasn't talking about LA. I was talking about people reading and rushing to varied opinions about what he posted. He spoke about UT recruiting a certain type of player who fits UT's profile and people determined we have a nonexistent NIL program.

Hopefully there are players that the coaches and the boosters can agree on that big money will be available for, like Iamaleava. But the way LA is laying it out, I'm not sure if that will be the case.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I don't think what LA is talking about means we aren't doing NILs. I think it's a combination that 1. the school isn't getting in front and organizing deals with boosters and 2. guys that only care about the dollar signs happen to also be the type we aren't pursuing.

Boosters and businesses can still sign these guys up and talk to those recruits, but it just sounds like it has to be outside of the recruiting realm with coaches

(Which is how it freaking should be)

Not nonexistent, just unwilling to spend the big bucks. That's why clarification was asked for. Will we be willing to spend big on certain players? Or will we be content to let others spend the big money while we go a lesser route? Take a player like Iamaleava. Will we be competitive with other schools when it comes to NIL, or will we move on to a cheaper option?

Yeah, we need a good mix in spots. It would be nice to win with the good culture guy, at least first. You have to have both but I just think we need good players that are character guys just to get it back respectable. UT has to have the highest bust rate all time with 5 stars due to behavior or just being plain bad fits.

Here’s the little monster

I may be late to the conversation but several years ago I kept an Aquarium. The one thing I was always told was that you need to put fish with the same shaped mouths together in a tank. Pointed mouth fish will pick at flowing fin fish until the kill them. Wider mouth fish like Oscars are like bass and will swallow smaller fish like a ......BASS !!!! LOL Betas I always kept in a slender, tall Beta tank. If you put a mirror up close they freak out and go fight mode but I wouldn't do it often. Lemon Tetras and Tiger Barbs are good schooling fish. Good Luck, it is fun. My favorite were Tiger Oscars......just like Large Mouth Bass in a lot of ways.....always hungry.

Recency bias again and again. 130 years of Vol football and we are done. Been reading post after post for weeks of the same stuff said different ways. Might be a little too early to go into hospice with BVS.

If the rules changed with the transfer portal and then NIL, why will they not change more in the future? What is now will not necessarily be in the future. The current elites with access to big bucks for NIL have already done what they need to do with the other aspects of their programs. UT is a step or two behind, but is executing their plan. Field of dreams. Build it first, then they will come. Meanwhile, anticipate the future changes and be ready to take advantage.

Will the BVS change when the Vols make the SECCG? That's elite status BTW. If you make that you are NC playoff FF quality. Just this season I saw a team that was 4-5 players away, another year of development in the system, and having fair officials from being able to do that.

Y’all ever use vortex scopes? Where I hunt I need to be able to make 300 yard shots. I need an affordable scope that has good magnification. Vortex is what I’ve seen recommended
Vortex are high quality glass for a modest budget. I have used a Crossfire II on my .22 for a few years now. I can see the nuts, eyeballs, and future on a squirrel. I've also recently acquired a Riton (low budget, appears to be high quality, and vet-owned) that I'm highly impressed with but haven't used enough to give a great review. I plan to put it on a rifle for 200-400 yard shots.

Leupold and Swarovski are gonna be just about the best money can buy in my opinion. Leupold also has some affordable scopes, too though.

Thanks for posting this. NIL is new and we are not on top as a program. People get set in their ways and think there is no way change should happen. I’m sure I’ll get there someday. There have likely been many paradigm shifts since the beginning of college football and pro football but they remain strong and fun and interesting. Certainly better when your on top. If we were on or near the top I’m not sure the current outlook on NIL would be the same. If we hauled a class like A&M our outlook would be different. But Heck, they went so many years being little bro to Texas. One class will not write the record books and I don’t think our path is written either… looking forward to next season. Other teams fans have taken notice. I’m amongst them all in the ATL…
