Not a lot. It went from worshipping him, to questioning him, to resenting him, to appreciating him. He would leave with a lot of respect.

Yeah, they probably think they can get Meyer anyway, so they might be happier to see him bolt. Then if they don’t get Meyer, they’ll blame the administration and not Harbaugh.

Literally 6 months ago they were talking about when he would be fired.
Morons just like UF fans.

Patience is no longer a virtue and 1 down year, after multiple 10 win seasons, is a sure death knell.

God I hope we remember this lesson when Hype has his one down year where we only win 11 games...after we win 13+ for the next 5 years...🥳

Harbaugh just now seems to be getting traction with the football program. Terrible time to leave Michigan, IMO.

Umm, what?

He's 61-24 (.718) there and his worse season (non-covid) was 8-5. I think he's hit that Jimbo at FSU wall...and with the new age of college with NIL deals and such he probably prefers working less often at the NFL level.

Meh, this is all a DROP in the bucket compared to the absurd amount of evasion occcurring from small business (those s-corp folks especially...) and crypto these days...as it pertains to IRS attention.

Fwiw all of these guys will receive a 1099 from the payor (over $600 deals) and those businesses send those directly to the IRS. It's pretty straightforward for the IRS, unlike small business tax evasion and crypto cap gains.

Also glad UT has courses for this. Pretty straightforward - take 15+% depending on your income and send in your quarterly taxes according to a very specific schedule. It couldn't be easier.
Sounds good in theory but I wonder how many of these athletes will need new nil deals to pay their previous years taxes.

There will already be some dissonance when they get here and are immediately #2 at best behind Alabama.
#2 at what? They've been #2...more like #3...at winning football...for a long time. That's not what bothers them.

They just want control and image as the biggest and baddest. Their own TV station. Conference offices in Austin. Probably their own video game, idk.

I have a feeling that UT knows super seniors will not count against the 85 next year. I realize this doesn't match what the NCAA previously communicated, but it seems like there are too many players returning for us to have already taken 21 and be looking at 5-8 more between late signing and transfers.

To be fair we probably need 35+ or so to even hit the 85 next year (after graduation/draft/transfer attrition). We went into the bowl game with 60-65 scholarship players available.

I will say, I don’t want to see the coaching carousel open back up.
As long as it's everyone but us, I say let them burn.

I'm not talking about any of that.

They are used to being the golden child in their conference, to the point that they get to throw fits and get their way all the time, or have their cake and eat it too. When they get here they'll have some harsh realities to face when it's Bama that gets their way.

For instance, rival players aren't even allowed to do "horns down" and they try not to show crowd shots of fans doing it. Wait until Bama stomps their nose through the back of their head and the whole defense does horns down after they pick 6 whatever hot shot QB Texas marches out year after year. Or everyone isn't losing their mind about the Red River Shootout or their rivalry with A&M.

Talked with a Purdue buddy of mine that is pretty reasonable. He said if he were a UT fan he would be pissed. He thought the forward progress call was probably a 50/50 call, but the real injustice was the inconsistency with the long TD where it appeared the Purdue player had forward progress stopped. Basically he said if they let that play go they should have counted Wright’s TD. Either both should have counted or both shouldn’t have.

Either way he said he would take the win, but didn’t agree with the way it happened.

TIFWIW.

My Purdue buddy simply said, "sorry about the refs!" Purdue folks are by and large good peeps. It's a nerd school in that it's pretty academically challenging and well respected but they're not like Vanderbilt -- they do field good teams every now and then and this was one of them. I think lost in all that is that Purdue is a good team that by the numbers we should've lost to but instead we lead most of the game and squelched their comeback with that TD (Purdue likely doesn't score a TD that drive). This team took a lot of good teams to the wire and the refs ruled for the favorite each time.

These kids will be making business deals. With NiL courses at UT. They'll become business people during that process.

Imo they'll be getting sound advice from those courses and advisors and many are more business savvy than we credit them for. Especially in the age of social media, business tactics and mentalities are becoming second nature to a lot of young folks.

Quarterly taxes will help. If not, and they can't pay immediately (like tons of small businesses can't)...fine. It's a mere failure to pay interest penalty and you can make a plan with the IRS. Not the worst thing, interest penalties and the delayed payment plan are quite cheap.

Just saying, most kids will be fine. The rest will be no different than tons of servers everywhere. Paying in arrears with a little extra interest...ok. These are smart kids with good structural advisors. They'll be ok generally imo.

Just find the vibe weird, not here, but a bunch on ToS...it's like they're giddy about these successful, and now fairly rich, young kids possibly falling into legal trouble with literally the one entity everyone hates, the IRS. Weird jealousy vibes from some...especially that crew over on VQ.
