Cannot believe there was no camera angle from that side of the field.

There are lots of things from yesterday I could not believe...except we are the Vols and that explains it.

On a positive note I got to meet up with @OGbabyaviVol, @Sugaray13 and his son, @utvols88 and a couple of his friends at Billy Ratliff's Tap 40 grill. Guess who the manager was that I talked to for several minutes? None other than the Lady Vols Alexis Hornbuckle. Billy Ratliff himself came over and talked both the current Vols and the Vols of old. Talk about intense. I was ready to suit up. If you are in the Knoxville area, you need to support this VFL. For you beer drinkers, they don't call it Tap 40 for nothing.

Enjoyed the time, buddy! Billy was so intense! What a nice guy! For all those here, he talked football with us and what’s happening with the program. He said our WR group is what is hurting us especially with Milton’s overthrows. He said it’s all based on timing. They get that timing down in practice. Joe is expecting them to be at a certain spot when he throws it and the WRs aren’t getting to that spot. Just thought I would throw that out there. I’m sure some of it is Joe’s fault but gives a little perspective from a man who has played against the best and sat down with Peyton to break down film numerous times.

One last thing he said…said this is first time that most of these players have received real SEC level coaching. He basically said they have not received college level coaching for all 3 years Pruitt was here. So maybe that takes some of you off the ledge after the loss yesterday. We fought our tails off and didn’t quit. I like to see that a lot! I think we will get better and better as the season goes along and we continue to get more coaching.

And Alexis Hornbuckle is awesome! Such a sweet lady. She sat and talked with us for quite a while and took pics with us. She was hired by Billy to run the restaurant because of why? For all the attributes that Coach Pat Summitt instilled in her over the 4 years she played for her. Pat knew she was preparing these ladies for real life off the court, and she did that for so long. That’s just another reason she’s a legend.

Now is not the time to panic. Based on our depth and talent we’re a 5 win team. It was that way before the season began and is still the same. I thought this was obvious but now remember some of the 8 or 9 win predictions from a couple weeks ago.

Here is why everyone is mad...eliminate the bone head penalties, hit a wide open receiver and we run Pitt out of the stadium.

The fight was there the execution wasn't.

Got two weeks to improve with a scrimmage in between.

Gonna be a different team when they face the Gators. Let's hope they are overconfident.

And they barely hung on...it is incredibly frustrating..but if you had told me pregame that these things would happen..

That Pickett would have a career day, that we would have those TOs, and sacks, and a completely one sided officiating whack job...I would have predicted a blowout, but it wasn't a blowout. It took all that happening for them to eke out a win...in Narduzzis third year.

If Pruitt was coach yesterday we get absolutely obliterated...45-10 or worse.

Like I said...in a really weird way it was really encouraging to me. I hate it, but...wow..I can easily see the potential.

Agree completely . It's just going take time unless we get real lucky in the transfer portal. But I think we have really good coaches for a change just not enough depth. And I sure didn't agree with all the calls the coaches made and think they will get better.

While this season could be another brutal season, I do look forward to see the progression of Tyler Baron. He could turn into something special.

I'm not even going to say much about our starting QB..You all know what I have said about him from the beginning...and I hate it.

That was our shot at a shortcut back to respectability. There will be no shortcuts, we are going to have to do it the hard way...like Johnny Majors did.

Please please please VN...don't go all "Heupel and his fellers all suck! We want Kiffin"..We have to give these guys time to fix this mess.

I don’t blame Heupel and his staff at all.

This isn’t his fault. This is what you get for 15 years of dysfunction in the athletic department. I like Heupel. Hope he succeeds.

I'd much rather have to teach the execution than the fight. I still think we make a bowl.

Think 5 is pretty easily attainable. 2 more cupcake wins and SC/Vandy. We are better than all those teams.

Don’t see us getting to 6 wins though. Pitt was the swing game to get us to a bowl imo

It's kind of crazy to consider that FSU and Tennessee played each other in the 1998 national championship and now, 20 years later, both programs are total ass.

FSU has won another title since then, and they basically ran their coach off.

We will beat someone we aren’t supposed to this year. If we come together as a team and put together a complete game we will be hard to beat. There were so many negatives from yesterday, many self inflicted, but we still almost won. 2nd game of a new system with a new coach. This years team wipes the floor with last years team. We will get better as the year goes on too.
I was there, I was mad at the overthrows, and all the turnovers, etc. We could’ve been up 21-0 in the first. We got punched in the mouth multiple times and kept fighting. Pitt played about as good as they can. We showed obvious room for growth in many areas. If these two teams had the chance to play again at the end of the year, I would take TN all day long.

Battle did a thorough job of nuking the program...just as completely as Pruitt-Butch-Dooley have.

Difference with the Battle era was that we had to bitch at the water cooler, church, school....was no WWW or social media....we even had @Catbone types back then also
