Milton is the reason we didn’t blow them out. If he plays all game, we lose by more. Hooker came in and drove us to some touchdowns. Only touchdown Milton got was a two yard handoff. I don’t understand the love for him. He had looked like ass two weeks straight. Everyone is caught up in appearances instead of how he performs.
Lol there is no “love” for him.

I’m not caught up in appearances over how he performed. He did not play well. As I have stated.

The part apparently you forgot to read was (if he learns to hit the deep ball)

If Milton dials in the deep ball on a consistent basis none of the QBs on our roster can compete with him. (Players do improve - they aren’t limited to never getting better)

I also, said that you use the Tennessee Tech game to gauge this and that if Milton continues to miss those throws you sit him for the rest of the year and move on to your other QB options.

Yeah, and the thing with UT football right now...is the team has to be not only good but ELITE to make it to Atlanta. At least why Bama is the juggernaut they are. Of all the teams in the SEC East we are without question the only one that has basically an automatic L from the SEC West on our schedule, every single year too.

We've had great 1st quarters in both weeks. We've scored in 7 out of 8 quarters of football thus far this season (all of which included at least 1 TD) we're 42nd in PPG at 36 right now.

The bad is we're 4th in TOs and 5th in penalties. So we still got a ways to go and things to clean up, hopefully we get/stay healthy and just clean up the self-inflicted mistakes.

Honestly, at this point in my life, I’ll settle for just being good. The fun gap between good and elite is way less than the one between good and mediocre/bad.

Tennessee tech as a gauge lol. Come on man. He couldn’t hit them against bowling green who is awful. Then sucked against Pitt who is an average team. Keep saying if he can. Just like saying if JG wouldn’t throw picks. He is who he is and is the same QB he was at Michigan. People forget he has been playing for a while. We are seeing the same exact things that Michigan fans complained about.

I said it a couple of pages back, but I think you start Milton and let him launch that deep ball to open receivers. If he doesn’t hit those throws and continues to over throw them. You sit him and start playing your number 2 and number 3 QBs for the rest of the year.

However, if Milton fixes that long ball against Tennessee Tech we are in business for the rest of the season as long as he stays healthy. That’s JMO though.

Yeah, could be one of those "shooter slumps" where once he starts seeing it go in (or rather him hitting them) then he's out of his own head about it.

Lol, you don’t do reading comprehension well.

The Tennessee Tech game is not a “gauge” in the sense of if we win or lose. We should win that game no doubt.

The Tennessee Tech game needs to be utilized to see if Milton finally has synched up touch and timing on the deep ball to his receivers. If he hasn’t then he doesn’t need to play the rest of the year.

It’s not hard to understand.

I know what you are saying and I was saying that it was crazy. Why use a crap team to see if he can finally hit one long bomb? He has had two games with one being against a terrible opponent and couldn’t hit one. He isn’t going to miraculously start hitting them all the time. We need to move on and give reps to Hooker and Bailey. Spending time on one QB is how you end up with a JG situation.

I’m still solidly at 6. Pitt game went generally how I thought it would during preseason. Didn’t change my point of view.

With that said, the fight our team showed made me slightly more optimistic.

The team fought to the last whistle - they have shown a willingness to fight through adversity sooner in Heupel’s tenure than they did in Pruitt’s, Jones’s or Dooley’s.

The Florida game will be interesting. First year Florida was a debacle for each of the previous three coaches. It might well be a debacle for Heupel, and that probably should be the baseline expectation.

But I hold out hope the team will at least fight for four quarters and make it competitive.
In order to get to 6 one must believe that we'll beat both SC and Vandy (very believable) and then beat one of KY, FL, OM or Mizzou. All road games. While possible, I think we'll be underdogs in all four games probably substantial underdogs so the odds are against us. We stand virtually no shot against GA or Alabama.

This is why I thought the Pitt game was so important. We are behind the 8 ball with that loss.

The Tech game is a terrible game to touch up things. They are so bad, that’s like Dormady going 16-16 in the scrimmage. Any one of us could put up decent numbers against them. Move on from Milton and go with the guy that moves the ball.

Statistically speaking, if we have say a 30-40% chance to win each of those four road games, we will win at least one.
