And completes the passes with more accuracy. Again you can work with a guy that turns the ball over as long as he can move the ball. Milton threw for 50 yards, Hooker gave us 188 and threw a pick but scored two touchdowns.

If you can make an argument as to why this offense is better under Milton moving forward using stats I want to see it.
JG says helloā€¦

No joke. Iā€™m in atlanta. So thatā€™s three hours there and three hours back pissed. Iā€™ll save my money. I have given enough over the years, Iā€™ve taken a big step back now. Iā€™m tired of empty promises and pissed off walks to my truck.

Iā€™ve suffered through my share of home losses over the years. Leaving Neyland after a loss is always a miserable experience (I mean, if you care).

Mesh Point fumble against Bowling Greenā€¦.. that apparently you forgot about (that was not Pierce lol, Hooker tried to pull it and fumbled it)

Eh...I put more fault on Pierce for that one even after the rewatch. But it was 0:35 left to go in a game we're up 32 points in...so not sure it matters.

Hooker's fumble against Pitt was far worse than either of Milton's though.

I get Dobbs vibes from Hooker a bit...and despite making some bad mistakes and TOs he was still winning us games. I really have no preference on who starts here of the 3 QBs, I just want the guy who can help us win more than we lose. So far in the 2 games I've seen this season I am leaning Hooker.

Our offense is bad and the stats bear it out. I know 34 points seems like a good result, and it was yesterday, but if we donā€™t improve and become more efficient, a good team will make us pay for it.

The writing is on the wall.
What writing would that be?

Tee or Chadwell should have been hired instead of Heupel

Truth be told, I feel that way all the time about Vol football. I flushed the loss emotionally as soon as it was over. Shsssshhh. Donā€™t tell anyone. ;-)

But I still love watching my Vols!
Lol anyone who allows a Loss to destroy their week or day or whatever might need to look inside themselves and figure out why they care that much when there are better things to care about lol šŸ˜‚

As a fan our team losing sucks but it isnā€™t going to ruin my day šŸ˜‚, Iā€™m not a player or a coach. If I was then yeah Iā€™d be super POā€™d and disappointed.

But as a fan that isnā€™t our job lol. Our job is to clear this game, hope for improvement and cheer for the next possible win. Iā€™ve always wondered about those individuals who get physically and emotionally upset at an outcome they have no hand in lol.

The issue with Hooker is just his arm. He is a dink and dunker. Which Huepelā€™s true offense is not made for. That doesnā€™t mean it canā€™t develop into that but, I think you are going to see Huepel stick with Milton until he just canā€™t stick with Milton.

Letā€™s talk about what we think moving forward. Do we think Hooker gets the start Saturday to get a game under his belt before Florida?
Itā€™s the least of 3 evils tbh. Heupelā€™s gonna have to get outside game plan and go with Hooker to try to get close to .500 season.

Milton - Can improvise with legs when needed but too, too much arm and no touch/accuracy. Thatā€™s more innate than coaching so he seems like heā€™s a head case between the ears when it comes to that. Donā€™t think heā€™ll get that figured out.

Hooker - Scrambler mostly. Softer arm which is more catchable but unfortunately heā€™s turnover prone.

Bailey - Least of the 3 to improvise with his legs which is concerning with this OL.

We donā€™t have close to a complete QB. Patchwork.

Ya know it's hard for me to even say Chadwell would be a better hire at this point. He just happens to have found the right QB for his system. Once Heupel does it here people will be praising him as well.

Grayson McCall is an absolute stud QB. No clue if he ends up in the NFL or not, but as a college QB he is amazing and fun to watch. Now had we gotten him WITH a Chadwell hire... I'd be wearing a skullet probably.

Thought our defense looked good while playing man coverage. We went zone and WRs started sitting down in open space. When we pressured that QB we rattled him. They started rolling the pocket and found success.
We are a man coverage Defense, plain and simple. We were that under Pruitt and we are that under Heupel.

Yeah, the thing is if Milton starts hitting on those deep balls it's a wrap. That's just a different level of weapon to have a QB who can break off 50+ yard runs and also still hit WRs 60+ yards down the field in stride.

But "if" is a damn annoying thing to constantly hear about your starting QB, I got my fill of that with JG here.

TTU is a good game to have this week, WRs should feast and Milton/Hooker/Bailey or whoever is throwing it should have plenty of opportunities to get some work in with the deep ball.

Thatā€™s one reason Iā€™m optimistic after yesterday. Itā€™s pretty clear to that anytime Heupel can find a good QB, weā€™ll be good offensively for several years. And Banks/Garner has our undermanned defense playing at a high enough level for me to think that we can be good enough on defense to have success.

The worry about Heupel is ceiling, but the program isnā€™t currently in a position to fret about his potential ceiling.

Iā€™m hoping Tayvon Jackson is the kid who leads us to the promised land in a few years. That kid can run and throw with touch (also has a cannon)

Seats are empty because UT is having trouble selling tix even with creative packaging and bargain bin prices. A lot of season tix holders can't even give them away. My parents had six to give away outside Neyland and no one wanted them. My dad left them outside the stadium with a note. No one used them.

Fan and donor apathy has been growing for a while. COVID has cloaked it. If you're looking for a silver lining, families who want to take their kids to a game can benefit from cheap or free tix.
I personally am not attending in person because of COVID (@ me if you must). But, I agree. People are much more reluctant to invest the time and money for football right now.

Sounds like we have a lot of fair weather fansā€¦. I will always support the guys on that field no matter the win total.

Thatā€™s just ā€œtrue fanā€ virtue signaling. Only die hard fans are left. Just because they expect better results doesnā€™t make them fair weather. Most people eventually stop throwing good money after bad.

That first deep ball from Milton was a beauty and Hyatt dropped it and then got a concussion in the process. Hyatt stays healthy and catches the ball there and itā€™s a different game IMO.

What about the penalty? Holding. That play comes back and doesn't count.

Ya know those games where every replay starts off with "this one had controversy"? How is ours not one of those? I don't get how this isn't a bigger thing. It seems absurdly obvious it was a 1st down. That one's going to sting for awhile.

Do the official replays rely on network footage, because it seemed like ESPN was trolling UT with the horrific angles on the ā€œnot a first downā€ spot and the ā€œnot a touchdownā€ at the goal line calls?
