Yeah that would make way too much sense to go after a kid like this... he's too good... apparently defense isn't a priority on the recruiting trail noting by this summer's lack of a hot board... sheesh... Clearly Our worst weakness this season was defense, yet, even with the numbers and folks talking about self-imposed scholly's we haven't gotten anyone worth noting on defense yet... and the portal has been filled with LB's, DB's, and S's... time to make some moves Tim Banks... let's go with it!!

We knew this was going to be starting from scratch, and I like the staff overall and they've done a great job in most areas, but recruiting is definitely where they need to step it up... Next season teams are not gonna be taken off guard by our Offense and I have a feeling it will be harder to score points... if our defense does not improve we are going to take a step back... when we could have adjusted the roster to make room for defensive portal players... Guess we will see how it all shakes out, but at this point it's not looking too good.

I think it's on Fulmer for refusing to leave and that DW is already worth it. So I give her (or whoever was responsible) credit for that.

OTOH we should count everyone who transfered out and say that was penalty enough -- especially when you add in the three losses we were assessed through rigged officiating.

Re: teeth...I'd agree they're letting their power over SAs go and trying to reform in order to avoid liability, but they're still the governing body and have power over the member universities (they ARE the universities, so this all makes sense). If they hand down a punishment, then you have to live with it. Hate or hate it, that's their power as the governing body.

And if we want to wait for them to shift the power from a board and infractions committee made up of: fcs presidents, g5 ADs, and a couple P5 people...over to an FBS or even P5 model...

Where half of the board and infractions committee deciding your fate are Bammers, Bulldogs, and Gators...well, no thanks!

Jmo but things will only be worse for us once the people deciding our punishment is more P5 and SEC folks. Punishments will be there regardless, but I'd rather more disinterested folks making the decision than more of our rivals.

again rome wasn't built overnight. we've made a lot of strides... cant expect to be sec title contender Thanos style.

like losing weight first 10 is easy, second 10 is whole helluva lot harder.

last time I was in atlanta watching Ainge, Ainge. I was in my twenties.

Not seeing how I'm being "negative" Doc. I support the coaches and praise the job they did this season. How is talking about improvement "negative"? Our coaches did a remarkable job this past season and outperformed expectations, but it's not wrong to want to see us continue to get better. It's like people are afraid to have an honest conversation about what this team needs to do to continue moving forward. Having that conversation is in no way betraying the coaches because our opinions mean squat to what they're going to do.
