I dont think he sucks at all. Just needs to be better.

Here's my gripe, why does arguably our BEST player (Tillman or Banks in the conversation) need to be better?

Why can't it be that the OL needs to be better...cause they do.
Why can't it be that the RBs need to be better...cause they do.
Why can't it be that the TEs need to be better...cause they do.
Why can't it be that the play calling has to be better (especially in the 2nd quarter) cause it does.

It's like you pick the one positive and chirp on it, that's why it feels like you're just trolling. Everyone agrees that the younger WRs need to step up, or the OL, or the RBs, or the TEs, or some of the play calling or the defense etc. but you pick one of the players that could play exactly the same as he did and if the rest of the team improves we win more games.

Could also be said every player needs to be better as that is one way a team improves. Checkerboard only posts for the attention, if no one responds then he is defeated.

He said something in the line of UT can’t take any players unless they get rid of a current player. Surely I misheard that.
it's not just that, it's that and 13 early enrollees are coming, so just from a head count perspective for the spring, the numbers won't add up until/unless some folks bolt.

they've been talking about this for a couple of weeks.

Everyone needs to be better, I'm not arguing that at all. But in CFB the biggest separation between good and great teams is really good QB play. If everyone else stays the same but Hooker improves this team can win 10.

Wrong. I don’t care how good your QB is, if your OL doesn’t do it’s job, then you aren’t winning big. You think if Trevor Lawrence played for us he would have been in the Heisman race and we would have won 10 games? No. Until our OL steps up significantly, we will be stuck in the 7-9 win range. The great teams win big because of great QB play AND great OL/DL play.

I dont expect our O line to be that bad next year. C and both guard spots are OK. Wright did fine at LT and hopefully the Florida transfer is actually good.
D Line I agree, but RG is the one coach I have the most trust in to get it right, so I'm not going to doubt his unit.

IF...Trevor Lawrence had come to UT, I'm pretty sure that better skill players and OL would have followed. We will never know.

Hooker aint the problem by any stretch. UT won a NC with Tee Martin....... Hooker is as good as Martin.

The elephant in the room is the lack of talent everywhere else. Everyone knows that.

The real problem is defense. People can skate around it all they want, but the offense puts up the numbers to win. Defense tends to crap the bed. I think Tim Banks did a good job with what he had, but we NEED more on that side of the ball, thus my harping on the subject that causes everyone to bitch at me. Our defense has been our biggest weakness, and we've done very little to address it. Yes, we made some good pickups in this class, but it's rare to see a freshman come in and contribute at a high level immediately. We needed some portal pickups at key positions to solidify the defense, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen, at least not until after Spring, and I'm not as optimistic as everyone else seems to be on the level of talent we'll see at that time. I really hope I'm wrong.
