Based on these posts - a lot of it makes sense for what we are actually seeing. The February signing day will tell us a little more.

Might be best for folks to hold their fire on Plowman, Boyd and White.
Why anybody continues to blame the ppl who got rid of the ppl who caused this mess (Fulmer, Pruitt)in first place is beyond me. The idea that we turned ourselves into the ncaa without the threat of somebody doing it for us has turned this fanbase into conspiracy theorist against the admin.

If you want to blame someone there are two guys currently fired you can blame it does no good to be pissed at the ppl who got rid of them.

I wouldn't say you get left behind. Depends on how you define that I guess. Reduce and possibly almost eliminate your opportunity to win a national championship, yes. But you can be a relevant program that wins lots of games and even has a chance to do something special if everything breaks your way.

With the CFP and the worthlessness of Bowl Games.........That is all there is to play for.
7-5 and 8-4 gets a coach fired after 4/5 years

At this point I just think mr.checkerboards hates Hooker. Must have PTSD from a Vegas trip and getting signals crossed.

Hendon Hooker was objectively, subjectively, and statistically one of the best QBs in the country. The Davey O'Brien semifinalist nomination shows that. If anything what we SHOULD be worried about isn't him playing better, it's him regressing.

i think the only kid we're actively pursuing is Moten, and if he goes to Miami, we may just be standing pat.

i think the spring transfers are going to tell the tale, both in and out.

agree on the holding fire. no reasons to really consider that right now. they've picked a path, and whether you disagree with it or not, at least there's a direction, and that's driving the decision making, culture etc. it's working in the other sports. Football is, and always was, going to take a little longer....and that's just to get to the point where we can compete on something resembling a level playing field with the likes of a Bama or Georgia.

the long game. requires some patience and discipline.

I agree. We were too far down as a program to play any other way than the long game.

I dont grade like that but if you must
QB- Good not great
RB- Good enough
WR-Solid
Te- do we have one?
OL- Above average, but not good
DL-Above Average
LB- sucks
DB- outside of Taylor not good.

Do you think that it is probable, or at the very least possible, for Hooker to get better in this system in year 2?

That is all there is to play for? Goal for every major program, absolutely! Every program/team that doesn't win a NC is not relevant or important? That way of thinking is part of the problem. You have seen the list of HOW MANY teams have won a NC in the last 20 years, correct? Those are the only relevant teams over the last 20 years? That's a shameful way to view college athletics.

Ok? He hit open recievers. Which I said
I honestly don't think our offense is designed for the QB to make a ton of "throw it open" kind of throws. Maybe part of that is that Heupel is waiting on a QB who is really good at that or it may be that his philosophy overall does not require it. I will say that 3 picks over the whole season means he did not try to force very many, for sure.

I agree with you. It is a sad way to view it. I loved the idea when the Sugar Bowl was priority #1[/QUOTE]

I dove into the depths of this thread, back to the days of us anxiously awaiting our big win over Purdue, and celebrating the life of Betty White, to find this. I am eating this today
If you like them, I recommend adding Jalapeños. And the only two items I skip on Mike’s Way is the olive oil and red wine vinegar.

Doesn't have to because they are already open.

Was non-committal on Plowman before this day one year back. Been a big fan of her and Boyd ever since. It’ll make us better in the long run. They’ll just let the usuals grumble and pick their way through it.

The Defense reminds me of an old golf joke:

Joe Am: "Hey Pro. Why do I slice every drive?"
Pro: "Loft."

Joe Am: "Hey Pro. Why do I top my iron shots?"
Pro: "Loft."

Joe Am: "Hey Pro. Why do I shank every pitch shot?"
Pro: "Loft."

Joe Am: "Hey Pro. How can 'Loft' be the issue for everything?"
Pro: "Lack Of Fu&*ing Talent."

LMAO! That's great.

100% agree. People act like they know the details of what Cornbread did and Phil allowed to happen. None of them do. Only the key core group at UT know. Let them do their jobs and focus as fans on supporting the team/program.

Honestly if the AD was just some regular Joe Schmo rather than Fulmer this fanbase would be so much more pissed off at what he did, but sadly they can’t allow themselves to blame a former great coach for what happened…

I honestly think you all are being too tough on him. I don't agree with a good bit of what he posts. I think he is just tough to please. I am pretty certain he is a fan.

I don't ignore people, but he certainly likes to mix it up and be the contrarian. Called me a nut hugger for defending Barnes, and I admit that Barnes has flaws. Decided that I have very little time for people like that. People aren't too tough on him.

He's basically the guy that you go golf with and hit a hole-in one and his response is "but ya shot X over par on the day"

When I was in Desert Storm, we had a Lieutenant who drank Mogas because someone had put it in a water bottle. Dude thought it was cherry Kool-Aid and drank about three big gulps before he realized (how in the world it took three gulps, I will never know). He got kinda sick but nothing real serious. He was known as Lt. Hi-Test from that point on. Never understood why that made him so mad, LOL.

I wish they'd remove the bowl tie ins. Just let the bowls make their choices then let the fans have new trips and experiences. I'd do a trip to Pasadena for a bowl. Nashville? It's stale.
