Like many of you, this site has become a part of my everyday life. I created this account as a teenager and check it when I wake up, ten times (or more) throughout the day, and one last time before bed every night. Was fortunate enough to attend and graduate from UT for four years and I still remember being in awe the first time as a freshman when I could read Volnation and look up and look out my Geology class’ window and see Neyland sitting on the river all at the same time. This is a place I’ve shared time with through the highs and lows of life, and I’m lucky enough to be blessed to say that I just received the best news a man could receive: I’m going to be a dad! So excited to finally be able to say that myself after seeing so many blessed with the same gift through my 10+ years on this site! It doesn’t even feel real yet!

This is such a special community with so many great morans! Thank you all for the countless laughs! Here’s to a NCAA DI Baseball National Title this spring and double-digit win football season this fall. GBO!
Congrats

Rough weekend, dad's back home and will no longer receive treatment. Most of the paperwork on things has been handled at this point, but he's got at home hospice and we'll just try to cherish what time we have left with him.

Thank you to all you morans that have kept him and our family in your thoughts and prayers (or goat sacrifices if that's what you're into...)
Continued prayers

Retired Baseball coach where I work took the opportunity to "lecture" me about the Vols behavior this weekend. Said UT shouldn't have run up the score Friday and need to stop breaking the "unwritten rules". Are you kidding me? If it ain't written it ain't a rule. Baseball snobs are some of the worst.

I guess our guys should just intentionally hit a dribbler or add a K to their statistics. Stupid.

The media taught sour-grapes fans of other teams to parrot that line. I always involuntarily think of a political rally in North Korea when they talk.

Nobody said a word when teams were kicking the crap out of us.

Remember all the handwringing and pearl-clutching when the Rangers beat Baltimore 30-3? Me neither, because all you heard was people celebrating the Rangers’ accomplishment.

Tell him it wouldn't have happened if they stopped throwing such hitable balls.

There's a reason no one's written them down.

What rule states you shouldn't win the first game in the series by too many runs?

You see big scores in MLB too. Running up the score is not even one of those unwritten rules. When a manager puts somebody like Anthony Rizzo in to pitch because the game is out of hand and he doesn't want to burn any more bullpen, the other team keeps trying to hit him. Not sure where your old school coach thought that rule came from. Definitely not MLB.
