I prefer watching at home. When I was younger, going to games was great, but I can't handle it anymore, health wise. At home I'm comfortable, or at least as comfortable as I can be. No lines for food or the bathroom. No rowdy people bumping into me. I can still act a fool whenever I want.
I get that. I didn't say it wasn't better in some situations or for some people, but you will never get that extreme high that you get actually being present...Those times when you can feel that shared explosive adrenaline-dopamine high down to the marrow of your bones so strong that you can't sleep until daylight the next day.

We haven't had many plays or games like that in the last two decades. I hurt too, I am not in your shape, but it is extremely uncomfortable for me to attend games, but if/when we ever have another really great season...I want to be there at least once when something powerful happens...it will be worth the pain and discomfort to feel that awesome feeling again.

Shew you should read the Auburn mods and board.

He apparently showed up and right off the bat believed the Boise, Mountain West "ways" were superior to SEC ways. SEC players were dumbed down. He believed he didn't need to make good connections. Didn't attend Auburn events or connect with alumnus. Didn't think recruiting was that big of a priority because his Xs and Os were superior to everyone else in the league.

He's a worse version of Pruitt. He won't last another 2 years, max.
If they fire him after this year, mark my words, the next coach will be worse. Steele or someone equally bad.

I probably don't put much stock in the message board rumors. Particularly because everyone from the top boosters to the AD was looking for reasons to fire him for cause just a few months ago. But it was weird. He did talk about Boise St like it was the mecca of CFB.

You compared him to Pruitt. It came off like Butch Jones. Like he didn't fully grasp he wasn't at a midmajor any more.

Auburn fans are usually not a good judge of their own coach. Like most of us, they overreact coming and going. That doesn't mean Harsin is a good coach, just saying fans collectively are more emotional than analytical.

My personal impression was that Harsin irritated people, including players, simply by insisting on running the program his way. He kicked some kids off the team for not showing up to meetings and practice, because he knew Malzahn had let discipline get too slack. He didn't bow and scrape for the big donors, because he knew they played a big role in Auburn's disfunction. By doing those things he made enemies and they didn't play nice.

Harsin may end up being a poor coach, or just too inflexible to succeed at a place like Auburn, but he walked into a bad culture and a bad personnel situation and then lost his starting qb with nobody decent to take his place. Classic year zero.
