Why does Drew Gilbert do that weird thing on second after hitting a double?
Years from now, there will 350,000 folks claiming they were present when Drew Gilbert hit the grand slam walkoff against Wright State last year. I am sure it was an unmatched, indescribable feeling being there in person. The almost spiritual energy of being there when something amazing happens is something you can NEVER have at home...that is really what you pay for. It is a high that watching on TV can not supply.
I really can't even describe it. But I can put into words what it was like to not be there.Years from now, there will 350,000 folks claiming they were present when Drew Gilbert hit the grand slam walkoff against Ohio last year. I am sure it was an unmatched, indescribable feeling being there in person.
How do you know, have you watched Nico live in game yet?
I'm not saying they are similar either...but generally asking. I would say Hendo gets next to ZERO credit for how accurate he is though. So that part seems a bit confusing to me.
I've watched as much as there is available online and read others' reports on Nico. The comparison is just lazy. Hendon has a very compact release, Nico's is much more whippy, long. Both have good velocity, while Nico alternates speeds, Hendon throws fairly hard at all times. I think Hendon's arm strength is underrated. Both have strong arms where this scouting report says they don't. Nico is extremely long and lanky, Hendon while still tall is a very stout dude. Hendon looks to make plays with his legs fairly quick into progressions, Nico seems to run after plays have broken down. It's just a terrible comparison really.
Nico's ceiling is a Trevor Lawrence type. Or mid-range outcome of college Daniel Jones.
If we go on a 10 year run of beating the gators in football, we will know who broke the curse. Cool story about your uncle though. Condolences.Just want to share a cool coincidence from the SEC Championship game.
My uncle’s funeral was Sunday at 3, and his oncologist (Florida grad, important later) was one of the speakers. Aside from being his Dr through treatment, my uncle also coached his son and they were very close friends because of that. Apparently my uncle made a major impact on his kid during his time as baseball coach.
He ended his speech with “I’m going to say something I’ll never say for another man. Tennessee plays my gators for the SEC Championship today, and all I’m going to say is… go Vols, beat those gators”
As the funeral procession ended, I checked my phone for the first time since the game began. It was 0-0, and in an instant after I saw the score… it updated to 4-0. Drew Gilbert had just hit his bases clearing double as the funeral ended. Thought that was a really cool and fitting end to bring closure to the day for me and my dad.
He’s a more elusive runner than those guys but arm wise I would agreeI've watched as much as there is available online and read others' reports on Nico. The comparison is just lazy.
