@nicksjuzunk , saw you and your family's update. Praying for you all.

To the rest of Volnation, I know many of you have helped this man and his family before. There's a chance to help him and them again should you choose to. Reach out to him if you want to know more info or I can share what info I've seen.

Thanks brother. I appreciate it.

Sorry to hear that. We had to make that hard decision last week for our 12+ year old Boston Terrier. He had been diagnosed with heart failure and given a six month estimate from the vet. We gave him meds three times a day and he lived a good active life for more than two more years until his kidneys and liver started failing early last week. It's very hard to lose a pet, especially after 10+ years, but don't ever doubt that you're making the best decision for her. That's been reassuring to me during this tough week.

Here's my little guy Sig. Been missing him. I've got his Tennessee collar hanging in a special place.

Yes it is tough. We had to do the same with our dogs a couple of years ago. I probably waited to long with my dachshund/beagle mix, but our red heeler/jack russell mix had congestive heart failure. He was just an old dog one day and the next he started having trouble breathing and gagging. The choice was obvious for him. I miss them both still, very much.

My aunt is having to put her golden mix sweetheart down today. Cancer just came on like a wildfire and she tried all she could but it is just getting worse. It will be especially hard for her because she is a single lady and this dog was her covid isolation buddy.

I have been wearing Merrils for years, I have loved them because they always felt good, and last forever..but this latest pair doesn't feel great at all.

I only day hike now...actually until I sonehow figure out how to get my knees replaced, I can barely make it more than a few relatively flat miles a day...it took every bit of pain tolerance I could muster to make it to Taft Point which I used to could have done in a few minutes.
Sorry to hear about the knee pain, McGill. We both day hike in Merrils. Interested in how people will answer your question.

Yo so I'm sitting at Blountville mcds and keep seeing the most oddly dressed polo wearing men followed by tied off tank tops and jort wearing women.Puzzled me until I rem the drags are in town, still u wouldn't catch me in some of the stuff they wear.

I sound like a Hoka fanboy at this point but I got Hoka Speed Goat 2 hiking boots to walk through Glacier National Park. Not sure I'd carry 5 days of supplies on my back in them, but for day hikes they were unparalleled. Loved them!
I hike in Altra Lone Peaks now. I love them and they have wide toe box. They take time to adjust but they are great

Hoka Bondi.
There was Hoka Clifton or Clayton (one they still make, one they don't. It was whichever they don't) that I loved too.

Currently in a Hoka Arahi because my running has necessitated a slight stability assist. Legs feel better, but those Bondis are like running in a cloud.
Arahi’s are good if you have plantar fasciitis

Altras (I think the Timp 2s) are my current Trail Running shoe. Love them because of the wide toe box. excellent cushion but I can still "feel" the ground which is what I want in a varied surface.

Which ASICS do you like? I tried the Nimbus and really liked them, but I know there are some others that people like too.

I had some New Balance 993s and really liked them. Best part about them was that they were made in the USA. I wish more shoes were made here.
I've been through 15+ pairs of ASICS Kayano's over the past 18 years and love them. Best combination of stability and cushion and one of the gold standards for distance runners.

“Squirrel can freakin’ run. He doesn’t bat an eye when things get chaotic. He is flying around. If somebody’s trying to be physical, he’ll match that intensity and that physicality. He’s got the biggest heart. He’s the smallest stature, but got the biggest heart in the room, probably. Love that kid.”

“Made multiple plays. Operated really efficient. Didn’t feel like the tempo or the game was too fast for him at any point.”

This is a player who clocked a 10.68-second 100m and 21.58-second 200m during his junior track season – for comparison’s sake, former Tennessee wide receiver Velus Jones Jr., who clocked a 4.31 40 at the NFL Scouting Combine, ran a 10.56 100 and 21.68 200 in high school.

White joined a couple of other fast wideouts in Jalin Hyatt and Jimmy Calloway in working out of the slot, which should best suit his game.

Hyatt is the projected starter in the slot and could have a big season if he’s able to translate his offseason jump to Saturdays in the fall. Calloway has plenty of ability, but has yet to put it all together though he finished the spring better than he started it. With Tennessee wanting to play more guys at wide receiver, White with a good summer and preseason building on what he did in the spring could get rotational snaps or give the Vols options for when they want to go with four wideouts and pair a couple of speedy slots with the bigger targets they have at the outside spots.

very nice

I developed pain in my left knee years ago while training for a marathon. I was up to about 13 miles a week when the knee gave out entirely one day and I fell down on the running trail. Scared me enough that I went to a sports doctor.

He saw right away that my feet pronate (tend to run slightly on the insides of my feet). The pain was caused by my kneecap rubbing repeatedly on the tendons (I think?) until the knee gave out. He fitted me with orthotics & I was back to running again.
