seems we're striking out unfortunately on several-- Tate, already Sanders, Jefferson, etc... BVS and cups for everyone-- still have a great shot at picking up much more top-tier talent though...

Found out today our 15 year old kitty's kidneys are beginning to fail and so we are going to have to put her to sleep sooner rather than later. She is antisocial with strangers but she loves her family. Been a big part of our lives for 15 years. Gonna be especially hard on Mrs. Glitch because this cat is her baby.

Sorry to hear that. We had to make that hard decision last week for our 12+ year old Boston Terrier. He had been diagnosed with heart failure and given a six month estimate from the vet. We gave him meds three times a day and he lived a good active life for more than two more years until his kidneys and liver started failing early last week. It's very hard to lose a pet, especially after 10+ years, but don't ever doubt that you're making the best decision for her. That's been reassuring to me during this tough week.

Here's my little guy Sig. Been missing him. I've got his Tennessee collar hanging in a special place.

Yes it is tough. We had to do the same with our dogs a couple of years ago. I probably waited to long with my dachshund/beagle mix, but our red heeler/jack russell mix had congestive heart failure. He was just an old dog one day and the next he started having trouble breathing and gagging. The choice was obvious for him. I miss them both still, very much.

My aunt is having to put her golden mix sweetheart down today. Cancer just came on like a wildfire and she tried all she could but it is just getting worse. It will be especially hard for her because she is a single lady and this dog was her covid isolation buddy.
The one thing a pet will always give is the true feeling in your heart that they were and will always be yours. That alone makes them very special.........one day you'll see them again.

USFL's last weekend is this week, then the playoffs start next week. Championship on July 3rd.

If some of you need Methadone-Football for a couple of weeks, like me...

I watched a couple of games and it is basically AAA football but the thing that gets me the most is there are NO fans. Somebody had a lot of money to start the league but they're broke now if attendance is any indication of success.

Attendance is mostly due to every game being played in Birmingham. The Birmingham team did get some fans in the stands whenever they played. Every other game is a neutral site game in BHam... ain't nobody going there for all that

momentum has def slowed down
None of them have signed yet. The season can change a lot of things in recruiting. I'm optimistic the second year in the system will be better than last year. Now if we can just keep the pitchforks/mustard bottles from coming out at the first sign of struggle...

Ok...since somebody asked about running shoes, I am going to ask which hiking shoe/boots do you guys think are great?
I have been wearing Merrils for years, I have loved them because they always felt good, and last forever..but this latest pair doesn't feel great at all.

I only day hike now...actually until I somehow figure out how to get my knees replaced, I can barely make it more than a few relatively flat miles a day...it took every bit of pain tolerance I could muster to make it to Taft Point which I used to could have done in a few minutes.

I've been a Merrell guy for about 20 years myself, I've had good pairs and not so good ones, but overall have been happy with them. I wouldn't give up on them just because you got one bad pair. When that has happened to me, I just get a different set and use the other ones for working in the yard and getting trashed. Good luck

🐂💩

Seriously, own Merrill's for running, still have knee pain.
Shoes have nothing to do with my knees...I destroyed them installing flooring for 26 years plus playing basketball 3-4 times a week all through my twenties plus having a genetic predisposition to extreme degenerative disease.

I don't know why I always misspell Merrell..🤦‍♂️
