I would have loved if we landed this kid, but it is not the end of the world. We are fishing in a big lake now instead of a little pond. We won't always land the big fish. We have to just keep trying and see what happens. We lost Tate to his dream school after they upped their NIL. We lost FM after the Miami billionaire upped their NIL.

Please don't start bad mouthing the kids either. If you were offered life changing money at 17 years old, it would be almost impossible to turn it down regardless of what ever team you liked.

While true, quite a bit of fans would get restless without beating FL Georgia and Bama. If the Bama streak reaches 20 I could see it getting pretty rowdy for whoever is here as coach

It's not. I mean, I'll be happy if Echols jumps on board, but it doesn't lessen the loss of what could have been a big cornerstone of the current class.

Just cannot agree with people saying, "it's not a big deal we lost Mauigoa". Maybe in a few years if he doesn't develop, but right now, it absolutely is a huge deal.

How is this not a big deal? Have you seen our offensive line? Easily one of the worst position groups on the team.

This is gonna be Groundhog Day with these elite players until we make our biggest strength, our dedicated fanbase, a weapon.

This feels like the long term fix. Over the course of the season when Spyre does the marketing push to get more common fans involved that’s for ‘24 class and beyond.

The quick fix right now is for donors with deeper pockets to get involved that don’t give two ***** about monetary returns.. just like Ruiz at Miami. TBH, I get the hesitation with our boosters to pump more money into athletics with the dumpster we’ve been for the last 10-15 years. The future looks bright though, and I’m sure they notice, it’s only a matter of time.

For the record, this post is not a deterrent to donating to spyre, just that the marketing push that’s been mentioned is most likely for next years class and beyond. This years class needs a quick injection of funds and it feels like deep pocket donors is the way that can happen.
