I dunno man. Just returned from Fripp. Beaufort has 3 restaurants. Literally. One of them is ok.
I woulda taken a Ruby's burger.

I think his point was that we tend to hope for the best and assume these professionals know that they're doing. We often blindly follow them and boldly proclaim, "Well I trust Coach X's ability to evaluate talent!", as opposed to the individuals recruiting ranking or offer list. Then we are left with some garbage seasons, a dearth of actual talent, and the next coach comes in and immediately says, we have to upgrade the talent level across the board. This staff has nothing to do with those staffs and shouldn’t be held responsible for their shortcomings.
looks like box elder or PI there in background pal.Ole praying mantis thought I wouldn't see him little did he know I hunt Copperhead and snow leopards in my spare time haha

Just my .02 but I also prefer to buy fresh seafood and cook it myself. Grew up around and spent time on Carolina beach’s all my life and I’ve always thought you can cook it better than you can get it from any restaurant. Can confirm. My parents recently bought a house on Fripp and I’ve been a few times now. There is like one restaurant on the island and you have to be a member of the beach club to access it. And Beaufort has a handful of places to eat, very few of them good. You have to go about an hour or so outside of Fripp to get to a place with decent food. But, I don’t mind it. The island itself is nice and private and not that touristy and I prefer to grill when I’m on vacation anyway. We just go to Gay Fish Company outside the island and get some fresh fish to cook instead.
we love it there for the reasons just specified.I don't know what is wrong with Beaufort, but this is so true. We stayed on Fripp - once. We like to go to restaurants, but not in Beaufort or on Fripp. Thought it was just us until a neighbor friend went and stayed in Beaufort a month ago while visiting the nearby islands on day trips. Nope - they hated it and they are native South Carolinians.
I did not know that about Gays. We have friends who have a house on St. Helena. We are going to visit them next month. Really looking forward to it.
My wife's Great Aunt, who just passed, was in PoT.Yup….was at Gay’s a couple of years ago and they were doing some remodeling and found some business cards of the director. The Vietnam scenes were filmed on Fripp and of coarse, some were filmed in Savannah. The Jungle Book and The Prince of Tides also used Fripp for filming.

Got mine last week. Phil Steele should be arriving today. Can’t wait to spend the next month annoying my wife and maniacally making my power rankings for CFB and NFL. Then can’t wait to annoy her by maniacally gambling, grilling, drinking and watching 12+ hours of football for 2 days each week. The time is almost here heheheObligatory summer purchase
