They say it’s a 2 read system at most for QB’s, which in a sense is true, but it’s more complex than that. As for WR they say you can’t learn the route tree. So the WR has an option route (almost all go routes, hitches, and slants)on almost all routes. Depends on where and how the DB is playing him he chooses the route that will get him open.I want to bring up a topic of discussion.
I have read many of our rivals stating that Josh Heupel’s offense is simplistic and not sustainable.
1) Where did this rhetoric come from?
2) Is any of it true?
So they choose numbers in box first for run or pass then pick the option routes. This is how they run so fast. With this the QB and WR have to absolutely be on the same page.
With that said is it easy to defend absolutely not, they attack the weakened of defense. Every zone has a weak spot and every man can’t defend every route. Plus if you have hat on hat up front they can run all over you.
