Must have missed this somewhere. Was this always the plan? I seem to remember his offensive highlights being really impressive

We had 40 TDs last year and only 3 INTs last year combined across the 2 QBs and still lost 6.

I get there is some circularity and sure, the better his stats, the better our team would be. But I have a hard time seeing our defense being there yet. Just look at Purdue or UK games. Our offense can be lights out and still be on the ropes and lose half the time.

Need to see, at least, a 2019 LSU type defense... quite good, not elite, defense, to go with this offense to imagine 11-1. Maybe in a couple years...the way we're recruiting.

Maybe. But don’t forget we were just a few plays and a few cheating refs away from 9-3 last fall in year 1 with Heupel. The jump in production that’s expected and a few things go our way no reason we can’t win 10+ this year.

Every game is winnable outside Georgia and Bama. May get to 10 with some good breaks and staying healthy. 3rd down defense is key

I've been rewatching some bowl games and recently watched the Music City bowl. Honestly, that was an ugly game for all concerned; the offenses, the defenses, the officials. Not sure if it was the layoff or season fatigue, attrition and apathy.

Agree. In his scenario we'd have to be a one-loss team heading into Athens and upset Georgia.

In the bright side, if Hooker throws 50tds w/3 ints, we'll likely be 10-2 or better.

10 more touchdowns would have won us almost all our games last year.

So ND almost got both Peyton and Al. I remember those ND teams from a few years before them and they were ridiculous with talent. Wilson would've gotten them a Championship. They had offense sorted but big Al would've been the same difference maker there.

I agree. The main thing that I worry about are the fake injuries.

The teams that didn't implement that approach got their doors blown off, or were better teams that underestimated us and found themselves in a battle. The teams that did implement fake injuries basically flattened our tires.

We are at our best when we are running full speed offensively. It puts up points quickly, it puts pressure on the other team's offense, and that leads to them making more mistakes or trying to play our style, which we are going to win more often than not.

We blew the doors off of Missouri. They never saw us coming.

We blew the doors off of South Carolina. Same deal.

When we came roaring back on Ole Miss, Kiffin started the slow-em-down strategy.

Alabama didn't think they'd have to worry about us and our offense kept us in it for most of that game.

Kentucky tried to play us straight up for the most part. They underestimated us early and paid, then came back and we lucked out with a bend-don't-break defense.

In the first quarter of the bowl game we scored quickly, Purdue went to their money play early for a big score because they felt that they had to answer. We scored again right away, then they put pressure on themselves to keep up and turned it over. We march right back down the field to go up 21-7. Then they proceeded to make the game us ugly and muddy as possible. We didn't exactly make it hard on defense by having a terrible day at DB, but even still.

In most of these games last year, the opponent figured out, either through in-game adjustments or through film, that slowing us down and making the game as ugly as possible was the best strategy.

Were there questionable calls in the Ole Miss and Purdue games? Undoubtedly. Borderline criminal, I'm actually not convinced that the Music City Bowl wasn't a Vegas job.

Even still, the film is out there on how to limit our potency, and that does give me pause.

Georgia always plays a soft schedule. That Oregon game might as well be at home. They only have a few true road games this year. It'll be up to bama probably in the SEC championship game to knock them off that pedestal.

In the right games, yes. That's about 1 td in every 3/4 games. Would have helped in many, but not UF, Bama, UGA. 2.25 out of ole miss, purdue, and pitt. If we evenly distribute them. Though it could be a lot more in ball st and pitt (milton didn't score too many TDs).

Hard not to see us 9-4 or 10-3 with 10 more last year. And yet he still wouldn't get the Heisman
