So it just so happens that most of the talent Saban recognizes are highly rated 4 and 5* guys. Your what if scenario about the recruiting services is moot. Recruiting services exist and here are the FACTS.

1. The teams with the most 4 and 5* players win at the highest rate.

2. The big 4? Bama, UGA, OSU and Clemson? Has been responsible for 10 of the last 13 national championships.

Those 2 facts are irrefutable. Those facts blow your narrative to pieces.
You used the top 4 programs in the country. With 4 of the best Head Coaches.

Check USC'S classes from the past 5 years. Texas too. Then tell me how awesome their 4 and 5 stars were as a team.

Your very SIMPLE problem is that you think a star ranking makes a kid talented or not. And that all of them are equal in talent if they have the same star ranking.

Again. Go check USC'S classes then Texas Longhorns and tell me how well that stars have treated them. While you're at it, break down Pac 12 champion Utah's roster 👍.

You should be getting tired of being ignorant on such things.

Ayahuasca. Same thing Ron White said helped him.

Also admitted to taking mushrooms. Oddly, also same as Ron White who microdoses for mental health purposes.

Ketamine is becoming a popular thing as well for such things.

Brave new world out there.
Screw that.. I’ve had two bad sheoom trips. Not worth it to me to ever try hallucinogens again

Getting ready to fly to Dallas.

Is there any worse place to sell carry on luggage than between security and the flight gate?

Mate… I already have a bag that has be transported my things with till this point. I can only take one bag on the flight and I didn’t all my stuff to this point only to leave my existing bag and pay double at your shop now.

It’s like trying to sell food at the exit door of a buffet

Several years ago I read Tim Tebow's book and he talked a lot about the change in the mindset of the team from his sophomore to junior year (when they wom the national title). Big things he noted was that everyone bought in, everyone was focused on being the best player they could be to help the team, everyone put in as much extra work in the offseason as they could.

I don't think we will have the same outcome, but I've seen and heard the same things about this team's offseason and players. Unity and dedication we didn't hear from Butch or Pruitt's teams. That's super encouraging.

You are correct…that tebow gator team wasn’t undefeated…🤔

This Volunteer team…15-0 🤠

I’m sorry to disappoint you…. I was sharing it for our Lady Vol fans since we play UCONN this season…. Would you have preferred a post adding to the argument of whether Kentucky is a toss up or not…. Possibly a post whining about recruiting and how we will never compete with anyone at this rate…. Perhaps an original post about whether or not Tillman is coming back….. just let me know which kind of post that you would prefer’
Any of the above.

Size, Speed, Strength and Depth. We match up with every team on our schedule in all these categories except the last and really all things considered only two really out man us. We have a young coach with an unbelievably high offensive IQ, we have an up and coming DC that I can assure you people will be coming after and a staff full of young go getters that many can only wish they had.

This is why we have something special to look forward too. Can we imagine what a full five years of recruiting and development will bring. It is a good time to be a VOL not that there is ever a bad time but this is different. Look at our Athletic Department from top to bottom and how they are performing, it is something everybody else is eyeing, that's for sure.

Your missing the forest for the trees here. Saban absolutely does know talent, and he has always been able to stack it up every year. The recruiting services don't just look at one another and say; "Hey guys! Who is Saban recruiting? That is who we need to give our highest ratings to!" The recruiting services have camps, go to games, watch film, ect to determine who the best players are. They don't just sit around and rely on coaches.
As @sjt18 mentioned, it's obviously not "just" what they do, as they get it wrong more than right the more they don't do it.

The problem is you are using where guys get drafted in relation to their HS star rankings and that’s flawed. When a kid comes out of HS they are ranked according to many factors. But those kids have had NO high level coaching at the college level.

Take the CEO situation to a different level. If you were a CEO and we’re evaluating potential employees, who would you hire? Let’s say you were looking at 5 people. Experience is equal but two have degrees from Harvard, one from MIT, one from Liberty and the other from ETSU. Which ones are you gonna look at more or are gonna be more likely to hire? Please don’t say ETSU and Liberty. You are gonna look more at the Harvard and MIT people. Why? They are perceived to have been better prepared and more capable. The Harvard and MIT people are the 4 and 5*s. While the others are your 3*s.

There isn’t a team that’s win championships that are built upon 3* players. That doesn’t mean a team cannot have really good 3* players. But to win championships, you have to have a high amount of blue chip players. That’s undeniable. And by blue chips, I mean high 4 and 5* guys. The data proves it. We are talking about the COLLEGE level. Not the NFL.
You're actually making the argument that low-rated HS players who go to the NFL are just as talented, but can and are developed in college. Again... You're making the argument that there are lots of low ranked players out there that will develop to become as good or better than highly ranked ones.

Thing very deeply on the argument you're *actually* making here.

Every game is actually a toss-up game, that's why we play the games. But we should definitely be favored in 3-4 of those games, and truthfully, I'd favor us in all 4. Who cares what people outside of this sub forum think? If they want to come here and express their opinions, I'll gladly tell them I think they're wrong.

@Weezer be all like...

After thinking about it. Seems like the take away is that @MarcoVol thinks non P5 teams are cupcakes. Simple as that.

And that's fine, cupcake is subjective. To me though some G5 schools are stronger teams than some of the lower tier P5 schools. But I can't think of a single SEC school that schedules more than 1 P5 in their OOC, so the blank statement of "they schedule 3 OOC cupcakes" would apply to every SEC school.

Thus if we're all doing the exact same thing...wouldn't the separation come from how good the 3 OOC "cupcakes" finish to decide which ones are quality opponents and which aren't?

I thought Kiffin could have swagger, but in the end he lacked confidence. Heupel is showing out what unsuppressible swagger is. He had seen what the foundational platform of Tennessee football can be and he has bought in and is going for it.
Kiffin's biggest problem is that he did not embrace or commit himself the the UT brand. He wanted to make us into USC and he never, ever fully bought in, IMO.

I was just talking to someone about this, they wanted to try shrooms and wanted my advice. Its all about having a plan. Where you do it, who you do it with and your frame of mind when you do it all matter a great deal. Ive pretty much always had a great trip but Ive always been in nature with good peeps. Its been about a year since I did it and probably 8 years since I went deep but I still feel shrooms are the bestest of drugs. 100% from the earth meant to open the third eye.
