Do you realize how hard it is to recruit QBs with only a couple of months till signing day?

You either miraculously flip one or you take a warm body. Either way QD would flourish way more in a pro style system IMO. Let the debates!

Agree. :good!:

Possibly already discussed, apologize if so.

Ainge said this morning he isn't confident Dormady comes back making the qb situation even worse.

It would be best for QD to give spring a shot. If he feels he has a great grasp on the offense and feels rhythm, come back. If not, then a transfer is honestly best. all QBs are on the same level right now with the reset.

I do realize that. But I also believe that Pruitt doesn’t hand out a git shirt to our one QB when he knows the other is leaving unless he has a plan. QD would do better in a pro style system, problem with him is that he panics in the pocket, loses his mechanics, and makes terrible decisions.

I really think all of our QBs will improve greatly this year with the new qb/oc we have. Get a big time strength coach and some of these juco olinemen EEs and go win nine games next year..GO VOLS!!!

You just brought up Shrout as a possible QB you want 😂😂😂😂😂

Peeped his stats? 👀

Uh, im the one that brought his stats into the thread last night. Didn’t say I wanted him, just said he was a guy we offered.

But nice try tho

What we need is a good OL this year. We never saw JG behind even a decent OL

I mean the discussion was about his failure to live up to the true DT QB billing. Not sure what that has to do with arm talent but sure we can shift the talk if you’d like.

Are we forgetting that JG was a freshman last year? With no run game and an OLine that at one point only had 5 scholly guys with 4 out of 5 being freshman?

The only person that would have escaped that massacre of a situation in the SEC is Dobbs.

I believe JG (as a freshman) performed well under the circumstances. Does he have room to improve? Absolutely. Will he take to coaching and take the right steps to improve? I already see that happening.

Just watch once the game starts slowing down for him as it does between the 1st and 2nd year for QBs JG is going to be REALLY good.

And JG is relaxed when he holds the ball and takes sacks. Ummm...hmmmmm

I’d rather him take sacks behind Brooks and walk ins on the offensive line than panic and throw interceptions behind our starters. Yes.

So you don’t like QD because he throws INTs.

When talking about QBs that could replace him, you being up Shrout who threw more per game in high school that QD last year.

Yikes, not a good look man. Rough morning.

Why does everyone keep talking about Helton running a pro style system? He doesn't. It's not even close. It's a pistol/shotgun spread, and they hardly ever line up under center. Has anyone here watched USC at all?

I could see this as the right approach if he has the right mindset. He would have to sit out a year if he transferred anyway. But if he wants to pout if he's not the man, he will probably need to move on.

I’m not the one having a rough morning. You’re a guy who thinks we aren’t going to recruit a QB. Hm. There aren’t any corners among our current commitments. Guess we aren’t recruiting any of them either! Better panic! We’ll only have the corners on our current roster next season!

Dumb argument is dumb. Give it up

Keeping trying to wiggle out of saying losing 1 of 3 QBs is a good thing.

It’s entertaining to say the least

We need depth badly

Pruitt needs to recruit him hard

I’m torn about it. Obviously we need depth at QB and will most likely play more than one QB behind the OL we have next year.

But also Dormady isn’t coming back if he thinks he isn’t winning a starting job. And I doubt they’d promise him more than the opportunity to compete for it.

We need to keep all of our current QBs for depth, but I don’t think another year of QB controversy will do any favors to our on field product either.

The NFL runs shotgun/pistol/single back stretch/etc. They are multiple, including situational use of under center. It's not about the formation. It's about the action. Pro style is not built around RPO. It may have a play or two they run with it, but RPO is the modern day option offense. That's the difference in recruiting a mobile pro style versus dual threat.

Helton ran pro style at USC as well as under Brohm. They were not built around RPO. They ran a fast paced tempo at WKU, but not as much at USC. Both were multiple pro style.

I am convinced QD is the best fit with Helton. Reminds of Ainge and IMO we can see the same kind of turn around he had when Cut came back.

So he was never lacking in toughness though.

Dormady’s biggest flaw is that he plays too scared. I’m not sure that’s a flaw that his other attributes can compensate for.
