Unless there's a wreck on I-26 or construction somewhere (but if you know the roads, there's ways around all of it.)

Sure. We're pretty spoiled compared to many though. Always struck by how much worse the traffic is everywhere else, despite the Tri Cities having a decent sized population. I guess it is spread out just enough.

I agree with the OP in that I have never been a fan of Bristol. Bass Pro/Pinnacle is worth the ride though. Only place we go to the movies any more.

Kingsport has by far the worst drivers in the Tri-Cities

Oh I agree 100%. I'm just partial to hating the traffic on the interstate. (It's always fun having cars zipping by you at 70ish, not getting over and giving us a clear lane to work.) But yes, other places it can take an hour to go a few miles. Here there's other ways to get places that are not far out of the way for the most part. I think that helps a lot.

I agree with this statement. I live in Jonesborough now, but am from Roan Mountain, the Boone and Banner Elk area is starting to lose its beauty as more and more people are moving in and houses are just popping up.

My family still runs a cattle up there. It’s beautiful country, but starting to get a lot of houses built up also. I know every back road in that part of the country some of the best fishing, hunting and waterfalls there are.
I drove up 19 to the park, and we hiked a little, we then drove up to carvers gap and over to Erwin. It is beautiful over there.

At least we don't say "hit" instead of "it" or call a chimney a "chimley" like these idiots in Kentucky...also it is so weird to hear literally every single person from toddler to 100 call their mothers..mommy..not mom or momma, but...mommy.

Yeah, that’s weird, but heck, I’m 37 and still call my parents Momma and Daddy.

That is pretty normal for everywhere I've ever lived...but not "mommy"..I mean every single person that lives here in Harlan county, that is from here, calls their mother that, like a little baby...It is weird.

We are planning on driving up the BRP from Cherokee to Boone one weekend this summer. Little Switzerland is definitely on the list.

The fall is most beautiful time of the year to go on the BRP. Don’t speed, the NC state troopers love to give speeding tickets to out of towners...especially Tennessee residents.
