You can’t hold that against him tho. Especially dak. He found and groomed him. I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure he was the lead recruiter for cam newton too when he came to Florida. Nick fitz is also damn good so he just has a knack for finding QBs. I will be shocked if by next year florida isnt getting solid QB play.

Florida’s lack of facilities i think are finally catching up with them. Their new indoor facility is literally just a warehouse. It’s a dump.

He does seem to find them. How good is Fitz tho really? Would you take him over Tua, Fromm, Locke, or Bentley? And even with those QBs he’s winning 9 games tops, except for one season when Auburn and LSU we’re both very bad and Gus was on the hot seat. He does find and develop QBs that’s for sure. We’ll see what he can do in an offseason. He also took Grantham as his DC who isn’t that great and he doesn’t have defensive talent like Mac did left over from Muschamp. We’ll see what he can do in the pressure cooker without a QB or very much talent in general.

Didn't see a thread.

After getting his first scholarship offer from Tennessee more than four months ago, Brandon Williams visited the Vols in April for the first time to attend one of their spring scrimmages.

He's already planning to make the trip again.

The four-star Class of 2020 linebacker from Isidore Newman School in New Orleans told GoVols247 on Friday that he's planning to return to Tennessee next weekend to attend the Vols' cookout and take a closer look at the program.

I’m really big on Fitz. I would take him over any of those guys if he’s healthy. I haven’t seen enough of tua but i do think he’s legit too. He has a bazooka. Question is if saban will let him loose or not.

You do think highly of him. I wonder if it’s really Mullen’s development also. We’ll see how Fitz does without him. Look at Dak in the NFL. I’m not sure Mullen made him into what he is or if he is just supremely talented.

I just think he’ll flop at Florida. I don’t think he’ll recruit that great because he isn’t a fit and players just don’t seem to like him. I think he’ll underperform and won’t survive the pressure.

Well he would be about 1.5 years more mature, so I factored that into my decision.

Lunch Meat always seemed plenty old...just post mental collapse. To the level that he couldn’t fake stability for any length of time. Haven’t seen that with Chizzle. Bristling at being given some grief isn’t some tell-tale marker on this board. :shades:

There used to be a third choice. NO ONE can recruit at Mississippi State. Then they hired Joe Moorehead. :)

I believe Mississippi State is recruiting well because of the troubles at Ole Miss. Once they get on level ground again, things should balance out in that great state :yes:

The troubles at Ole Miss didn’t start this past off-season...in fact they crested. Ole Miss is landing recruits under Luke...and so is Mississippi State.

I was at 6-6 in spring, now I'm currently at 8-4.

I fully anticipate being XV-Nulla by the time I get to my hotel in Charlotte :)

XV-Nulla?

I’m gone for 5 months and was able to catch up on most everything but what in Sam Hill does XV-Nulla mean?

Does he tho? 9-4, 6-7, 9-4, 10-3, 7-6, 8-5, 7-6, 9-4. One 10 win season and, if I recall, LSU and Auburn were bad that year. He seems to be an 8-9 with coach at Ms State, even with Dak Prescott. I’m not sure I’d call that him outcoaching guys. He also has some bad losses as well. What’s his best win at State? I think what Herman did at Houston was far more impressive than Mullen at State. I get it, it’s Ms state, but all those 6, 7, and 8 win seasons don’t scream “outcoaching other teams” to me

With just average talent (similar to ours over a 10-year span or possibly worse), he was far more successful than we have been over the same time period. There’s more to a record than in-game coaching.

Houston seems to be like one of those jobs kind of like boise state that it’s pretty easy to win at. A lot of coaches do well there.

We had Butch Jones and Derek Dooley. He’s better than them

Do they beat teams like OU and Louisville tho?

Kevin sumlin went 13-1 there and beat penn state and UCLA...also had wins over Mississippi state and Ok state. Art briles had a goon run there. Beat Oklahoma state too.

Houston has good facilities and support compared to their conference and they are in a hotbed so that’s a really good gig to have.

Fair point then. Still, I think Ms State has comparable talent and they don’t have wins like that. When Mullen beat Auburn and LSU they were bad.

Look, I’m not saying that Mullen is a bad coach. I don’t think he’s as good as everyone is pretending like, but I think he’ll be a horrible fit at Florida and will be gone in 4 years or less
