I'm so glad I read the post by Bass before I read this!Butch's real legacy...
Could Butch have been more destructive to our program? It's almost like he was doing it on purpose.
- Preston Williams, CSU: 71 catches, 951 yards, 8 TDs, Biletnikoff Award Watch List
- Jalen Hurd, Baylor: 57 catches, 756 yards, 4 TDs, Biletnikoff Award Watch List
- Vic Wharton, Cal: 40 catches, 394 yards, Biletnikoff Award Watch List
- UT's first 8-loss season in school history in 2017
- Alvin Kamara, backup running back at UT, offensive rookie of the year in the NFL in 2017, MVP candidate in 2018
Just sickening.
I take it you are trying logic on Chef... I was so confused.Who has predicted we will win 10 next year? @Bassmaster_Vol is excited about the recruiting class because the news has been positive lately. If I had to predict right now, I would say we win 7-8. We still will have too little depth and talent along both lines. That will improve as the year goes on, IMO. Like you, I think 2020 may be our break out year. Some people on here are saying 6 years, and that could be right, but I don't think it will take that long.
Maybe if you're just looking at physical, but a lot of the players he left don't seem to want to push themselves.Dooley left the program about the same in talent. Regardless of personal feelings, S&C, whatever, Butch left a better roster than he inherited.
But it’s time to keep recruiting and get better.
True. Just thinking about how we were counting stars before the season began but can't seem to keep 11 players on the field at the same time that really push themselves to that ability. Guess years of teaching working with smart kids that were satisfied with a "D" because it was passing makes me think this way.The mental makeup can be debated, but the star ratings cannot be. It can also be debated that was Butch’s best coaching job- beating USC and taking UGA to OT.
I obviously don't think we will land everyone of these guys but I really think we will get a decent amount to flip.
That being said, I find it exciting how much excitement there is around this class. I also find it interesting that although Dooley and Jones had their fair share of recruits there seems to be a different feeling with Pruitt at the helmet. It's weird. It's almost as if Pruitt is respected in the college football recruiting community that is known to be a good developer of talent.
