Dooley recruited lesser athletes and then didn’t develop them. Butch landed better athletes and then didn’t develop them. Different failures...but eventual failures. Butch had 3 winning seasons and 3 bowl wins...Dooley 0 on both accounts. Anyone that thinks Dooley left less a mess is just determined to have that outlook. Simple numbers don’t back em up.

Been at my daughters championship soccer game and have gotten behind on here. Any big news as far as visitors this weekend? I know crouch is coming but last night there were rumors of another 5* blue chip coming for a visit. Any idea who it is?

Larry Elder, a talk radio guy from Los Angeles, calls it the Elvis factor. A few years ago, a poll came out showing that something like 12% of Americans believed Elvis was still alive, and 8% believed that he'd get a letter if you sent it to him.

Because of people like that, you can never get above 85-90% approval on anything. Wanting to fire a HC or OC only part way through their first season after taking over from an historically bad season is goofy, but not everyone is reasonable. Just ask Elvis.

My response was concerning the comment that CBJ left more talent on the field than he inherited....

I'll see your Toney and raise you a Richmond, Niehaus, Locklear, Eric Crosby, and Kirkland....

I said butch still had a solid resume if you aren’t looking at it as a UT fan. That’s not debatable. Posters were acting like it would be the worst hire Maryland could possibly make and i didn’t agree with that. I said if I’m Maryland i would take a chance on butch over a no name coordinator from like Kansas state or something.

Yea i agree with most of that. But Dooley put together a pretty good roster particularly on offense at one point. A lot of NFL caliber players all over the place.

Well, sir....we're asking about talent left in the cupboard.....not low-hanging fruit on the tree

Now....do you value recruit rankings or actual on-field performances?
