I can see that also. Not easy at all and hard to develop when you got one OC or QB coming saying do this way one year and one saying do this way the next. Plus, forget that playbook learn this etc etc...
I’d love to see him finally put it all together and break out for us. But I also feel like Shrout or Maurer stepping up, thriving, and becoming the guy is probably our best case scenario moving forward.

Either way, with Chaney coaching QBs, I’m optimistic that he’ll make something out of the guys we have on campus or Bailey. We’ve just gotta hope the OL comes along enough.

This Arkansas Florida game is like watching paint dry.
Yeah, we roll both these teams unless UT plays their worst game of this season, a dud like the Bama game, last year. I don't see that happening this year. Yes, we will lay an egg in a game this year, but no where to that extent. I think a bad game for this team will be having the ball in the last 2 minutes with a chance to tie or take the lead and not finishing. I will be surprised if the Vols lose more than 2 games in the SEC, barring injury

Forgot about Maurer. With Bailey coming and Chaney as OC who will stay for a few years, hard not to get excited. I can see Chaney here for several years when things really get turned around and even retire here. Would love to have an OC here for years to come.

Yea, I think you might see less players signing early.
Like I’ve said before, just get rid of the damn thing. It doesn’t do that much to benefit the student athlete. If you really want to benefit them, make the early signing period the summer before the season. That way, they can focus on their senior year if that’s what they want to do.

I’d prefer just one NSD though.

Keep us posted.

I pray that you receive the best care full of wisdom and grace, answers to questions you may or may not have been seeking, the RIGHT solution, and peace above all for the path forward.

I don’t know what you are going through @chargervol but I will be praying.

I’m also preying on the newly fragile psyche of my so called Alabama fan friends. Hurting feelings and I have been watering down my actual thoughts. I’ve been messaged twice that I am “mean”.

If we can’t win it then this is the next best thing for me. You can’t just go around all year being an ass and not expect someone to pounce when you get your doors blown off.

On the early signing, agree it will probably tone down as negatives from the coaching carousel become more evident to players.

But an alternative anyway - why not have just given them a no-contact waiver, without the forced final decision part?
Same penalties for any coach that breaks it.
I mean if it's all about what's best for the kids? Especially if the new coaches style is completely unsuited for the players skill set.
