“I think we have set a standard for what athletics can do when you buy into your culture,” Schofield said. “When you buy into what it takes to win. As a University we should pride ourselves in being tough. It shouldn’t just be our basketball program. It should be everyone. Just like ‘one fly we all fly’ touched the nation and our University. The way we played the game, the way we approached every day, the attitude we instilled into this program, it should bleed into every sport. I think from here on out there’s no reason why the Tennessee Volunteers shouldn’t be in the conversations to win championships in every sport. I’m appreciative to be a Vol and things are only going to get better at Tennessee.”

Wow!! That’s pretty clear the slight contact made was because he kicked his leg out. Petty trash to decide a game based on that. Put our team in a blue and white uniform with Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Kansas on the front and that would have never been called! Never 100/100 times.

They hit hip to hip. It's pretty clear it was a foul. It simply was. Lamonte made a great effort play and just went an inch too far. That's basketball. An excruciating game of inches. But if we shoot over 50% FTs we're never in that spot. We lost to a really good team on a night 1 guy went insane. That's what stinks about 1-loss tournaments. No shame there. Love those guys.

This sucks but it’s not nearly as bad as football losses for some reason. I legit nearly died after the Vandy 2013 loss. I felt like I had been shot.
The difference to me is that after a lot of our football games I have not been sad, I have been pissed off at lack of effort and desire. Now I just feel sad for these guys...they deserve better than to be chumped by a bad night shooting FTs (usually their most reliable weapon), and crooked/stupid/bad (take your pick or a combination of all three) officials.

He kicked out..it is a garbage call..plus he was OB..come on man stop making excuses for that bunch of crooked jackals.

Jesus blain bishop on 104.5 Nashville says that it should be illegal for a player to stop and the trailing defender run them over to get the foul. Says the intent was to get a foul called by stopping and having them run you over. He’s referring to clines last foul when tuner stopped and he ran him over.

You mean the one that both announcers agreed was smart basketball? Blaine is dumber than a bag of hammers so this doesn't surprise me.

Madness. Defenders would start piling into guys on purpose any time the offensive player stopped.

Yeah man, that’s much worse than kicking your leg out on a jump shot to draw a foul.

After a night's sleep and additional time to ponder and reflect about the end of regulation in the basketball game last night, I have awakened refreshed and invigorated. And, when I say invigorated, I am even more infuriated by the heinous incompetence of the officiating crew. I realize that had we played better in the first half or had we hit a couple more free throws, we win the game. Those facts do not in any way forgive the blatant wrongness of the last 2.5 seconds of the game. There were five instances where if the referees had ruled the other way (and all are debatable at least, and one is criminal). It seems to me that the ball was off Edwards after the block. That one is debatable. It also appears that it may have taken longer than 5 seconds to inbound the ball. Then, there is the blatant push off by Edwards to get open. I realize that happens a lot, but this one was very obvious. Then, there is the fact that it appeared at least one of his heels may have touched out of bounds prior to him launching the shot and then there is the "foul." Of all of these, that one is the biggest joke. I realize that Coach Barnes said it was definitely a foul. That does not excuse the fact that it absolutely should not have been called and likely has not been called in a similar situation in other games this year. If you swallow your whistle on the push off, then you HAVE TO SWALLOW IT on the shot. He does kick his leg out and the very limited contact made (which Edwards likely initiated) did nothing to change the shot. Why, for the love of all that is holy, does this kind of crap happen to Tennessee basketball over and over? I absolutely hate it for our players.
