I don’t get why Elijah Simmons didn’t play Saturday and is buried on the depth chart next week. Everyone that saw practice was singing his praises.

Yeah the DLine getting pushed around all day and the guy DT has labelled as the strongest guy on the team gets 0 snaps.

I get he’s a freshman and probably still has a lot to learn, but I don’t see how you don’t at least give him a shot while you’re cycling through the entire roster all game.

Watching the game again my biggest take away is our defensive containment. The game was ugly regardless, however I believe if our containment on the edges was better we'd have won the game. Guys were taking the inside angle on every play, almost every single player.. leaving the outsides open

Of course. We all understand that, but I just can’t negative about it anymore until I see them play this week. I really hope last week was just a one off. I mean it has to be, right? I really think they just thought they would trot out there and walk away with a win. Problem is, Gast had game planned for this game since February, and only this game. They held nothing back and beat us with 4 plays over and over.

Coaching staff and players were humbled to say the least.

BYU is about to get rolled this week.

I certainly hope so.

Here’s the thing about making an in season switch to Phil. Our coordinators are great. When a 3rd and 4th coordinator isn’t working I am looking at Pruitt. Phil handles the overall team and coordinators call the shots. It could work. Would much rather Pruitt turn it around but if Saturday was any indicator, I say keep all options on the table.

What is it about UT that makes coaches literally forget how to coach overnight? I don’t get it. It’s like it’s by design or something.
