Don’t really need to beat Alabama this week to reach Atlanta. Everything is still within our goals even with a loss.
I've said this before and it used to he my mindset but not anymore. The main reason being an 11-1 TN who beat Bama but loses to UGA still probably makes the playoffs.

Ed O and Layla had A LOT to do with this. They wanted out of Knoxville ASAP. I think Kiffin leaving gave UT a free pass to upgrade over a guy who wasn't ready for the job. UT could've had a mulligan but instead doubled down on a decade of self-sabotage. So many years and so many layers of ineptitude-- unfathomable for a program that had defined stability and prospered greatly from it.
Yeah, all I'm saying is that his leaving, no matter who was pushing him to leave, started years of bad coaching hires like you mentioned.

75% Tillman is still better than everyone not named Bru or Hyatt.
We are playing with house money rt now. The pressure isn’t on us, it’s on them. We are way ahead of schedule in this rebuild and far surpassing expectations. In no way, should we risk further injury to Tillman by putting him out there before he’s ready. What kind of message would that send to recruits? It would be nice to have him, but I’ll take the culture that Heupel is fostering over a toxic win at all costs mentality.

If he's medically cleared we aren't putting him out there before he's ready.

So, when I was at UT, I was at a friends apartment. Tennessee had just won a game 😎

The door knob to her apartment started rattling and then an extremely drunk guy started beating on her door. I yanked the door open and was ready to throw fists. The drunk guys expression when he realized it wasn’t his apartment was so funny that I started laughing. He was on the wrong floor. My friend didn’t believe him. So I followed him upstairs and his apartment was in the exact same location. His door was locked and he had lost his keys. He actually had a bill in his wallet with his name and apartment address and number on it in his wallet. I checked his license too. I borrowed his credit cards, popped the door lock (Memphian 😇) and got him in quickly.

We went back down to her apartment. About 5 minutes later he is knocking on her door again. When I open it, he hands me a bottle in a paper bag and insists that we take it, He then stumbles back upstairs. I expect to get some bottle of rotgut. I hand the paper bag to my friend. She pulls out a bottle of Dom Perignon. We both look at each other 😳 like WTF? Had never been able to afford anything like that before. We truly enjoyed that champagne 😎

Now, I don’t think that’s what happened at JM apartment at all… just reminded me of a pretty funny college story.

Did you know that although Dom Perignon is probably the most famous and one of the most expensive champagnes in the world, the actual monk Dom Perignon couldn't stand there being bubbles in his wines and worked tirelessly to rid the wine of the horrid bubbles. Champagne with bubbles was probably most popular among the English aristocracy in the late 1600's and early 1700's but Dom Perignon (the person wrongfully credited with "discovering" champagne) found the bubbles vulgar and cheap.

If he’s only 75% then I doubt he’s medically cleared. You think he would be able to make full speed cuts and run proper routes at 75%?
edit: Also, where are you seeing that he’s been medically cleared? Have I missed something?

It only makes me angry seeing where our program is now under White and Plowman’s leadership, regarding the past 15 years.

The revolving door of poor leadership with the AD and Chancellor positions is a really frustrating time when looking back. Hamilton, Hart, Currie, and Fulmer were all lackadaisical. Cheek didn’t seem to care about UT athletics flourishing either.

It’s absolutely refreshing to see excellent leadership at UT again. We are blessed to have Danny White and Donde Plowman. Both are the reason why UT athletics as a whole is the healthiest it’s been in decades, maybe ever. I wouldn’t trade those two for any other pair.

I am worried about their 2 DE's, combined with their LB's, our line and blockers are going to have to bring their A game.
If they can get a decent run game established, and give Hendo time to throw, I am not worried about their secondary vs our WR's...UNLESS, the refs let bama get away with murder the whole game in the secondary.
I agree. Our Offense because of this factor has to become a little unpredictable and be aware of how Saban baits offenses into mistakes.
I think last year's game plan was decent, but CJH avoided certain plays.
This year I think he takes a different approach.

We were terrible on on 3rd down conversions last year. 2/13 and Alabama was 15/20.
12 penalties 98 yards vs 4-30 yards for Alabama
Rushing 65 yards to 203
Ball control. 19:34 vs 40:26

It is going to be interesting to see what the game plans are for the offense and defense to reverse this.

We get our TOP in the high 20's and we will win this game.

Anybody want to try and guess what the TV viewership will be? Fla game was 5.57 mil. This game is bigger so I am going with 10.2 mil

Bama/Ark 2 weeks ago was a 5.82M and they say it peaked at one time around 7M. I would bet that spike happened around the time Arkansas got the game within a score or whatever it was. There are viewers who will tune in if the game is close and won’t if it’s not. I could see this game being around 6M range and then peaking closer to 9-10 if it’s a close game.

Ehh, we’re better.
They swarmed the Aggie QB. He did pretty well. But he would be our 4th string QB. bama’s game plan was to take Achane out of the offense and make the qb beat them. Except for an ill conceived final play, bama would have lost to the Aggies.

It’s been a long time since I have honestly felt that Tennessee has the better team. bama of course has all the stars, but it’s like they are a bunch of individuals. They were just going through the motions. Looks like a buncha pruitts mercenaries that gave some effort, but believed they needed to protect themselves for their future rather than giving their all.

We have a TEAM. We have VFLs as coaches and as players. Our crowd will educate the bamites on the meaning of loud. 😎

This is exactly how I feel. I think our team plays more for one another than themselves. On any given play, we have 11 leaders on the field.

I can't wait to destroy them...Beamer is like a weird little irritating little yapping chihuahua..😖

That’s a complete insult to all VFL Chihuahuas. This is Oliver.

In his mind Oliver looks like this:

Beamer dreams of being a Chihuahua.

He is more like this …
